IM ABLE offers adaptive and inclusive group fitness classes for EVERYBODY! Our classes are dynamic, energetic, modifiable, and results-driven. Offering both inclusive and adaptive classes, group fitness classes are an incredible way to get moving and get connected. 

What's the Difference Between “Adaptive” and “Inclusive” Classes?

INCLUSIVE CLASSES

are open to both adaptive and non-disabled participants who are able to perform exercises independently. Classes can be modified for everyone and a variety of adaptive equipment is available. From beginner to advanced, we can tailor exercises to help you achieve your goals.

ADAPTIVE CLASSES

are open to individuals with physical, cognitive, or behavioral challenges. These classes and programs include functional fitness training, special events, adaptive equipment demo days, and more. Adaptive group fitness classes are staffed by certified instructors and volunteers and provide more individualized attention.

PLEASE READ – Reservations are now REQUIRED for all classes.

All Group Fitness participants must reserve a space for our Group Fitness classes using the PushPress App. Members can reserve a class as early as 1 week ahead of the class. App and online reservations will close 2 hours before the class.

CURRENT ADAPTIVE CLASSES

IM FIT:

IM FIT is an adaptive fitness program that provides fitness opportunities for teens through adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

IM FIT includes weekly gym-based functional fitness workouts and occasional activities and clinics such as adaptive rock climbing, outdoor biking, track & field, and more. Through functional workouts, sport-specific training, and a peer-supported community, participants build strength, improve mobility, and enhance overall wellness—whether they are new to fitness, working toward greater independence in daily life, or pursuing competitive athletic goals.

Prior to signing up for any of the IM FIT classes or activities, you MUST register for the IM FIT Program Plan first! See registration instructions below.

Fee:
The true cost of IM FIT is $110/session. Thanks to the generous support of Orthopaedic Associates of Reading, PPL Foundation, and IM ABLE donors, there is no charge for participants. If you wish to make a donation to help cover the cost, please visit our donation page. Any amount, big or small, makes a difference and would be greatly appreciated!

Registration Instructions:
If this is your FIRST TIME at IM ABLE:

  1. Use this link to create an account on PushPress
  2. After creating your account, you’ll be prompted to download the PushPress Member App. You must download this app.
  3. Once you have downloaded the app, log in and reserve the classes and activities you plan to attend by navigating to “Schedule” at the bottom of your screen, selecting the date(s), and clicking on “Reserve.”


If you have ALREADY PARTICIPATED in an IM ABLE class or activity:

  1. Open your PushPress Member App, navigate to “Schedule” at the bottom of your screen, select the date(s) you plan to attend and click on “Reserve.”

REDEFINE:

The REDEFINE program provides inclusive, high-energy fitness opportunities for individuals aged 16 and older living with physical disabilities. Offering both individualized and group-based training, each session is led by certified adaptive coaches and customized to meet the unique abilities and goals of every participant in a safe, supportive environment.

In addition to regular gym-based workouts, the program includes special activities and clinics such as adaptive rock climbing, strength and cardio training, indoor cycling and rowing, outdoor biking, and more. Through functional workouts, sport-specific training, and a peer-supported community, participants build strength, improve mobility, and enhance overall wellness—whether they are new to fitness, working toward greater independence in daily life, or pursuing competitive athletic goals.

You must have an active REDEFINE plan to participate in this class. See registration instructions below.

IM STRONG:

This class serves youth and adults with cognitive, physical, and behavioral challenges. This small group training is for independent athletes that are ready for a more challenging workout than IM FIT provides.
