As an Academy intern, you will get the opportunity to conduct training workshops, be exposed to end-to-end programme management, and work on projects to enhance the various training programmes, operations, and evaluations. In addition to being a trained facilitator delivering first-hand impact to today’s youth, you may expect to be handling multiple projects, shadowing the team in training and events operations, and contextualising new curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the contextualisation and curation of youth programmes
  • Ensuring the smooth delivery of workshops through meticulous and timely preparation of training materials and logistics
  • Facilitate and lead train workshops for the youth programmes that we run with primary and secondary school students
  • Participate in the post-training operations and impact measurement of youth programmes to track and monitor the quality of trainers and programme delivery
  • Manage multiple projects and schedules to enhance the programmes and operations of the team
  • Ensure the smooth running of the Halogen events, while ensuring high standards in our programme
  • Take ownership of both your professional and personal growth to increase the effectiveness and impact of your back-end and front-facing functions

A typical week at work involves

  • Being on-the-ground in different schools conducting youth programmes
  • Preparing the materials and logistics required for the aforementioned programmes
  • Improving programme delivery with staff, fellow interns, and associate trainers
  • Conducting post-workshop reporting and assessment
  • Coordinating efforts for Halogen events and initiative, coordinating with youths and relevant stakeholders
  • Having a 1-on-1 coaching conversation with your supervisor to check-in on your development
  • Attending department meetings that update the week’s happenings for each person
  • Attending external meetings with teachers, corporate partners, or business associates
  • Attending formal facilitator training and modular workshop training that enables you to be a better facilitator

We are looking for a Communications Intern with a strong interest in public relations, media relations, and long-form storytelling. This role supports the top of the communications funnel, helping to shape how our brand story is articulated, packaged, and shared with external audiences through earned media and owned content.

The intern will work closely with the Communications team to research story angles, support media outreach efforts, and assist in crafting press-ready narratives, articles, and thought leadership pieces that reflect our vision and mission.

This is a hands-on role suited for someone who is curious about how stories travel — from internal insight to public discourse.

Responsibilities

Support the development of PR and Assist in drafting and refining press materials, including media pitches, press releases, and backgrounders

  • Research and maintain media lists, journalists, publications, and relevant editorial calendars
  • Support the writing and editing of long-form articles, features, and thought leadership pieces for publication
  • Track media coverage and help with post-coverage reporting and documentation

  • Working directly on the projects that the Communications Team is overseeing

  • Tracking traffic, impressions, and engagements on digital platforms (Website, Social Media, and EDMs)

We are looking for a Design Intern with a strong interest in visual communication, brand storytelling, and creative execution. This role supports the Communications team in translating ideas, narratives, and campaigns into clear, engaging visual assets across digital and physical touchpoints.

The intern will work closely with the Communications team to design and adapt creative assets that support campaigns, programmes, and organisational storytelling, while gaining hands-on exposure to working within an established brand system.

This role is suited for someone who enjoys turning concepts into visuals and understands that good design plays a critical role in how stories are experienced.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and production of visual assets for digital platforms, including social media, website, and EDMs
  • Assist in creating print and physical collateral, such as posters, book/magazine publications, banners, and event materials
  • Apply and uphold brand guidelines across all design outputs, ensuring consistency, clarity, and integrity in how the brand is expressed
  • Support the development of visual content for campaigns, programmes, and storytelling initiatives
  • Organise and maintain design files and assets for team use
  • Provide general design support and assist with ad hoc communications needs, as required

A typical week at work involves

We are looking for a Community Intern with a strong interest in youth engagement, volunteer management, and community building. This role supports Halogen’s efforts in growing and sustaining a network of volunteers who play a critical role in our programmes and youth development work.

The intern will work closely with the team to coordinate volunteer engagements, support onboarding and communications, and help shape meaningful experiences for volunteers across our programmes and events. This includes both operational support and contributing to how we engage, recognise, and retain our community.

This role is suited for someone who enjoys working with people, is attentive to details, and understands that strong communities are built through consistent, thoughtful engagement — not just one-off interactions. You will gain hands-on exposure to how volunteer ecosystems are developed and sustained within a youth development organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Halogen in building effective volunteer experience with the volunteer community.
  • Support the team in recruitment of volunteers and outreach efforts
  • Plan engagement events to deepen the relationship with volunteers and partners 
  • Administrative tasks which includes coordination and following up with volunteers, partners on volunteering opportunities, and/or manpower deployment administration
  • Perform basic market research and business intelligence activities, to help your team in expanding our understanding of the sector and volunteering trends
  • Facilitate and lead training workshops for the youth programmes that we run with primary and secondary school students

A typical week at work involves

  • Coordinating volunteer engagements across programmes and events — ensuring volunteers are briefed, prepared, and set up for a meaningful experience
  • Supporting volunteer onboarding, communications, and follow-ups — from confirmations to post-engagement touchpoints
  • Working with the team to track volunteer participation and engagement, and keeping records organised and up to date
  • Being on the ground during sessions and events — supporting logistics, troubleshooting where needed, and ensuring both youths and volunteers have a smooth experience
  • Gathering feedback and insights from volunteers and programme teams to improve future engagements
  • Contributing to how we recognise and appreciate our volunteers — from small gestures to larger appreciation efforts

As a Partnerships intern, you will play an integral role in the engagement of Halogen’s range of partners within the education ecosystem. You will work with a supervisor in either our Solutions, Fundraising or Community teams to work on building good relationships with stakeholders that form a core part of what we do, as well as incubating new external collaborations and initiatives to help expand Halogen’s community reach. In addition, you will be given opportunities to be a trained facilitator conducting workshops in schools.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in one of our 3 corporate functions within the organisation (finance, human resource, or office administration)
  • Support necessary back-end operations to ensure we meet the required governance and compliance for a non-profit organisation
  • Manage multiple projects and schedules to enhance the ease of work and operations of the team
  • Champion both your own professional and personal growth to increase the effectiveness and impact of departmental work functions in the organisation
  • Facilitate and lead training workshops for the youth programmes that we run with primary and secondary school students

A typical week at work involves

  • Analysing the utilisation of key programmes and initiatives headed by the department
  • Having a 1-on-1 coaching conversation with your supervisor to check-in on your development
  • Attending department meetings that update the week’s happenings for each person
  • (For human resource functions) Supporting in recruitment and employee engagement activities
  • (For finance functions) Supporting a financial functions, including filing and documentation, as well as reconciling financial movements and donation figures
  • Manage office administrative functions, supporting asset and inventory management
  • Ensure adherence of processes to policies and regulations (PDPA, HR Manual, FInance Policy)
  • Being on-the-ground in different schools conducting youth programmes

Responsibilities

  • Assist Halogen in building effective communication with its partners, stakeholders and/or volunteers
  • Document and consolidate key information discussed at external meetings through the use of basic data analysis

  • Attending meetings and consultations with partners or our volunteers to build relationships, work on new initiatives
  • Conducting market research and analysis to aid strategic planning in expanding the scope of Halogen’s programmes and acquiring new partners/ volunteers
  • Assist your team in relationship management, from coordinating of meetings, to assisting in processes to ensure a quality stakeholder experience when interacting with Halogen
  • Writing up proposals/ or create outreach flyers for Halogen’s external partnerships and initiatives
  • Meetings and stand-ups with your department, discussing updates on partnership/volunteer pipelines, and planning strategic outreach to promote our programmes

Responsibilities

  • Conduct desk research and literature review on youth-related trends, issues, and developments to support programme and organisational objectives 
  • Design and support quantitative and qualitative research efforts, including the preparation of reports to communicate findings using data visualisation tools 
  • Support impact measurement and evaluation to assess the effectiveness and outcomes of Halogen’s programmes 
  • Assist in reviewing and refining programme content where relevant

A typical week at work involves

  • Researching and analysing youth trends to create more relevant curriculum content for Halogen’s programmes
  • Collecting and analysing programme feedback to assess programme impact and identify areas for improvement
  • Updating and organising databases related to Halogen’s youth programmes
  • Improving and creating the curriculum content for Halogen’s programmes based on feedback and research findings
  • Meetings and stand-ups with your department, getting updates and setting strategic courses

requirements
  • Able to commit a minimum of 3 months, on a full-time 5-day work week basis (This internship also accepts 6-month engagements)
  • A current student or fresh graduate (There is no preferred course of study)
  • Facilitation experience or experience working with youths preferred
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Passionate in youth development and our agency as people who can build the future of Singapore, putting people above all else
