Your AI Assistants, Powered By Your Data

No new datasets. No model training. No developers required.

AI Assistants That Actually Work

If you’re exploring AI assistants or chatbots, you want a solution that does more than provide generic responses.  What if your chatbot could retrieve real, domain-specific answers directly from your documents, databases, and web services — without complicated setup?

How Grooper's AI Assistants Work

Grooper AI assistants use a technology called “Retrieval-Augmented Generation,” or RAG for short. This gives you correct answers, based on your data. Assistants do this by finding information from what they are connected to, like documents, files, and websites.

Just ask Grooper AI assistants questions in plain English. You don’t have to waste time getting information ready or using a complicated computer language.

What is an AI Assistant?

AI assistants are like an expert that you can chat with in Grooper. An assistant can be dedicated to specific uses.

Grooper improves AI assistants by limiting their scope of knowledge to specific documents, databases or web sites and directing the answers accordingly.

Simple But Powerful

If you’re exploring chatbots or AI assistants, you want a solution that does more than just provide generic LLM responses. Grooper takes your existing documents and data and makes them ready for an AI assistant experience.

Conversational AI

Use AI that uses accurate data. No pre-training required. Just connect your resources and start asking questions.

RAG-Powered Intelligence

Grooper uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to pull answers from documents, SQL databases, and APIs.

Simply Type a Question

Use natural language to access information. Skip the search filters and SQL queries and ask in plain English!

What Makes Grooper's AI Assistants Better?

Grooper AI assistants are built differently. Here’s what makes Grooper AI assistants work in production, not just in a notebook.

Smart Retrieval Plans

Each AI assistant has a retrieval plan — a defined strategy for which sources it can access and how to query them.

This includes: vector and keyword search from AI Search, SQL queries into live databases, Web service calls to internal APIs, and metadata filters across documents in the Grooper repository.

The result is relevant, trusted answers. Not hallucinations.

No-Code / Low-Code

Grooper includes a built-in chat interface, but also supports external channels. This includes the Azure Bot Framework (Teams, Slack, SMS, email) or Grooper Web Services (GWS) – REST API with `/assistant` and `/search` endpoints.

So you can build your own client or embed Grooper’s assistant in the tools your team already uses.

LLM Control Without Complexity

You define which data the AI accesses. Grooper AI assistants support LLM-powered generation through OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or open-source models.

If desired, your AI assistant can also add source citations.

Built for Real Work

Grooper AI assistants work before and after extraction. You don’t need to build a full Data Model to get document information through the assistant.

Grooper empowers you extract fields, normalize values, and move data directly into downstream systems any time you like.

With AI assistants in Grooper, connecting to your existing data sources is quick and simple.

Documents Management Systems

Instantly retrieve text and metadata from PDFs, contracts, invoices, and much more. You can also see the document it came from.

Databases

Use an AI assistant to query structured data from SQL tables in real time. No need for predefined extractions.

Web Services & APIs

Integrate your AI assistant with external systems for up-to-date information, from customer records to live data feeds.

Website Content

Pull insights directly from indexed knowledge bases and internal documentation.

Simple Setup

No complex configurations or pre-processing. Just plug in your sources and start asking questions.

How do AI Assistants Work?

AI assistants use a method called “RAG” (retrieval augmented generation) to put helpful information into your chat. In a way, RAG increases the size of the AI assistant’s brain.

This lets you ask questions about specific things it can access. This makes the assistant’s answers more accurate without needing to teach it a whole lot more. When you ask a question, the AI assistant first makes a “retrieval plan.” It looks at the things it’s connected to and decides which one is the best to answer your question.

It also figures out what information to grab that relates to your chat. This information (like a document) is secretly added to your chat as a “system message.” This gives the chatbot the information it needs to answer your original question.

AI assistants give you a new way to work with documents and other resources that the AI assistant can connect to, like your company’s files or databases.

Here are several benefits of AI assistants:

  • Find documents and information contained within them by just typing in simple questions.
  • Find information without a dedicated method set up for that data.
  • Quick set up. With a solution like Grooper, you don’t need to extensive setup to learn about the data in one or many documents.
  • No complicated information removal required.
