1502: Joe Campbell

Joe Campbell

Joe Campbell was hired by Jim Bakker to work at his Morningside Church and given a show on his televangelist network. A well-known youth pastor and head of a children’s Bible camp. He was also known among some to be a serial child predator long protected by the Assemblies of God leadership and churches. Even though people came forward describing sexual abuse by him from the 1970s and 80s, it was not until 2025 that he was arrested after an Oklahoma grand jury indicted him with one count of first-degree rape and one count of lewd or indecent acts involving a child under 16. This is the tip of the iceberg.

Women and men have come forward detailing forty years of abuse that was allowed to continue. Five women told NBC reporters how Campbell assaulted them when they were children in the 70s and 80s. One woman alleged she was raped repeatedly over three years, starting when she was nine. One girl was invited into his home when she became a teen mother, there he raped her again and again.

Reports of him showing children pornography and of isolating little girls to molest and rape them began in 1983. A Sunday School teacher got wind of the abuse and told the pastor who rebuked her for gossiping. A little girl was forced to describe the abuse in front of a tribunal and in front of Campbell who shouted at her and called her a liar. When the child he had guardianship of accused him of rape and reported it to the police in 1988, the Assemblies of God finally took it seriously and banished him.

He moved to the Missouri Ozarks and founded a children’s camp. Camp Bell, of course. There he employed people accused of and convicted of child sexual abuse. At a children’s camp. Children came to see him as a sort of father figure, drawing them in and then molesting them, explaining that was an expression of his love for them, their special secret. He got hired by televangelist Jim Bakker and got a prime spot preaching on Bakker’s Praise the Lord (PTL) network.

1501: Ryan McDonough

Ryan McDonough

Ryan McDonough was a doctor in Wasilla, Alaska. He was appointed to the State Medical Board by Alaska’s Republican Governor Mike Dunleavy in August 2025. He resigned in November, a few days before his arrest for possession of child sexual abuse material. In his short tenure, however, he voted in favor of disciplining doctors who provide gender-affirming care and limiting abortion access.

In July, 2025, Dropbox sent a tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, informing them that McDonough appeared to have an account containing a video of a child being sexually abused. A second tip followed soon after and State Police got a search warrant for his Dropbox, GCI and Google account. They later got a search warrant and seized his computer. He was arrested in December.

A few days later his house burned to the ground and his remains were found inside. The rest of his family was unharmed. Due to his death, the case was dismissed. (3PA-25-02257CR State of Alaska vs. Mcdonough, Ryan Joseph TVJ)

1499: Gary Cannon

Gary Cannon, a Trump donor, was the President of the Board of the Oregon Coast Military Museum in Florence, Oregon. His son, Geoffrey Cannon, who has no party affiliation, was arrested and charged with child sexual abuse. Geoffrey was the museum’s director. When the minor’s family addressed the Board, Cannon said she knew what she was doing and equally offensive blaming the victim to excuse his son raping a minor.

He added, “I think your daughter could be a promiscuous little slut and you don’t know it,” the board member said. “And I think you need to get a real handle on that. Think about a young girl that knows how to manipulate men with sex and has done it before.” (Register Guard)

Both Cannons, father and son, resigned. Geoffrey Cannon took a plea which kept him out of jail. Just five years probation which the child’s mother says is not enough.

1498: Hunter Chase Eubanks

Hunter Eubanks

Hunter Chase Eubanks was a worship leader at Morningside Church in Tallahassee, Florida. He also led a church music internship program. He used his position to pursue an illegal “sexual relationship” with a minor. In other words, to rape a minor in the church and places around the city. He also asked her to send him pictures, in essence, asking for child sexual exploitation material. He pleaded guilty to the federal charge of sexual exploitation of a child and was sentenced to seventeen years in prison. He still faces state charges.

According to the charging document, the minor told a friend about the relationship which began when she was in 7th grade. He groomed her until when she was sixteen, he began sexually abusing her. When the relationship became illegal, according to the minor. Her friend wisely confided in a social worker who went to the police on October 9th. The next day, Eubanks was informed he was no longer employed at the church as police had already begun investigating. They searched his home and seized his phone where they used the same unsent draft ploy to avoid detection that was popularized by the General Petraeus scandal.

1497: Douglas Overmyer

Douglas R. Overmyer

Douglas Overmyer, a pastor from Mattoon, Illinois, described liberalism as an “ungodly, inhumane mental disease.” He was the pastor of Zion Hill until his recent suspension after his arrest for distributing child sexual abuse material.

He founded Seers See, an organization that describes itself as a resource for those with spiritual gifts. He also was the Executive Director of CHI RHO Outdoors where young boys can get weekly outdoors experiences in hunting, fishing, marksmanship, and more.

1496: James Fishback

James Fishback

James Fishback is a hedge fund manager who is running in the Republican primary for Florida governor, hoping to succeed Ron DeSantis. He seems to court controversy. Recently he called Rep. Byron Donalds a slave. Donalds is a Black man and one of his primary opponents. Donalds complained but Fishback said he had no right to do so because, I guess, Fishback didn’t know there was slavery in Belize, Panama, and Jamaica. He also initiated a secret relationship with a minor who he became engaged to when she became an adult. They later broke up and she has asked for injunction against him for stalking.

The court did not issue the injunction, because she was an adult when the alleged stalking occurred and there were defensible reasons for contact. However, the issue of his relationship with a minor was not litigated.

There is much more at Florida’s Voice: Governor candidate James Fishback faces allegations over relationship, began when partner was a minor but the Leon County Clerk has blocked my access.

1495: Jason Cole

Jason Duane Cole

Jason Duane Cole represents Ward 4 on the Warr Acres City Council. He remains on the Council as of Christmas Day although he was arrested on December 8th and charged with rape by instrumentation, indecent materials shown to a minor, and three counts of child sexual abuse.

Judging from a statement by Joe Dorman of Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy, the children are less than ten years old. “Having the children in single digits, it’s disgusting to see reports like this. The fact that it’s a person who is in a leadership role, either elected or appointed official that makes it that much worse.”

He is currently in custody.

1494: JaQuon Stembridge

JaQuon Stembridge

JaQuon Stembridge was recently elected Assistant Secretary of the Georgia Republican Party. He was the youngest person ever elected to a Georgia GOP leadership post. He ran on expanding outreach to young voters.

He resigned after a video began circulating that showed him trying to solicit sex and meet up with a fourteen-year-old boy.

He was caught in a free-lance predator sting. He claimed he was seventeen, not the nineteen he is in reality. The text messages reveal that he knew the child was only fourteen. The decoy asked him why he was trying to meet up with a 14-year-old. You can see it for yourself below.
