1529: Carter Miles Ledoux

Carter Miles Ledoux

Carter Miles Ledoux of Lake Charles, Louisiana, is a member of a white supremacist group that the Department of Justice has identified as a Nihilist Violent Extremist (NVE) organization. After a minor girl expressed support for interracial relationships on social media, Ledoux allegedly led a conspiracy with the NVE group he belongs to to stalk, harass, threaten, and swat her and her family.

They made a phone call to the police claiming that someone in the home had pipe bombs and would kill anyone who came.

He was arrested by the FBI and charged with stalking, threatening, and “swatting” her and her family.

After his arrest, federal agents found child sexual exploitation material on his phone, material that even included toddlers. A subsequent indictment charged him with possession of child sexual abuse material.

While Ledoux does not appear to be registered to vote, his membership in a white supremacist NVE makes him part of the support groups that threaten Trump’s opposition and apply pressure in response to his Truth Social posts. They are his “shock troops” that he used for the January 6th insurrection and whom he will use in the future when he fears losing power. He may not be in a position of power or truth, but he and the white supremacist NVE are integral to the MAGA movement.

Both indictments are below.

1370: Peter Schwartz

Peter Schwartz

Peter Schwartz is an insurrectionist from Kentucky who was sentenced to fourteen years for his participation in the January 6th attempt to overturn the government. He used a chair as a weapon against Capitol Police and also used mace. Prosecutors said he was one of the most violent of the insurrectionists who attacked the United States that day. Trump pardoned him.

In 2019, he was convicted of terroristic threatening and possession of a weapon while a felon. He was released in 2020 due to COVID and was on probation when he attacked the U.S. Capitol.

He had dozens of convictions in four states, including domestic violence, threatening his girlfriend, and assaulting security officers. A woman he threatened to kill fears for her life after his pardon.

The DOJ sentencing memo stated that in addition to four active warrants at the time of sentencing, he was on probation for these offenses:

  • Daviess County, KY – Traffic Offenses (arrest date 3/4/2019)
  • Marysville, OH – Domestic Violence (arrest date 10/4/2020)
  • Daviess County, KY – Terrorist/Threatening 3rd Degree and Possession of a Firearm by aConvicted Felon (arrest date 7/28/2019)
  • Daviess County, KY – Terroristic Threatening- 3 rd Degree (arrest date 6/29/2019)

He had several past convictions for assault, domestic violence, larceny, theft, battery, possession, and more. And that’s who Trump pardoned.

1234: Eric Spofford

Eric Spofford

Eric Spofford was the founding CEO of Granite Recovery Centers (GRC) an addiction recovery company with several centers and multiple programs to treat addiction and maintain sobriety. He led from his own experience as an addict and built a successful program. He is also a generous Republican donor. He now identifies himself as an internet personality and gives speeches on business, investing, mental health, addiction recovery and more. He has been accused of sexual misconsuct.

One of the women who accused him claimed she had just left recovery, newly sober, and began receiving messages from Spofford on SnapChat, including a dick pic and invitations to meet him for sex. She relapsed and blames the stress of his harassment of her for playing a role in her relapse.

A former GRC employee claims he sexually assaulted her on the job. Another employee told several colleagues he sexually assaulted her, leading to the resignation of the chief operating officer in protest. New Hampshire Public Radio interviewed fifty clients, past, and present employees and it produced a troubling story of an abusive and difficult CEO who also saved a lot of people from addiction.

He has since sold the company and now lectures on his areas of expertise. He vehemently denies all the allegations and sued NHPR for defamation. He has tried to intimidate sources with threats to sue people who may have been sources and pressured people to recant.

From a brief he filed, NHPR is planning a podcast and has another accuser. He claims they showed malice by not agreeing to his terms for an interview.

However, a judge ruled he had no basis to prove malice for his suit and described the reporting as diligent and professional. He tried to access information on sources through discovery and the judge demanded all the records, unredacted, but refused to give them to Spofford. The case, however, remains alive, with appeals.

The last action was this direction from the judge on December 13, 2023:

Court Order (Judicial Officer: St. Hilaire, Daniel I)
ENV #3366789; “…the Court declines to provide any of the in camera review documents to Spofford. […] Although Spofford is free to amend his complaint … any such amendment should be submitted within thirty (30) days of the Clerk’s Notice of Decision accompanying this order.”

Since the reporting, the reporters and family have been harassed and had their homes vandalized. One person has pleaded guilty to a conspiracy to harass them in a conspiracy allegedly organized by Eric LaBarge whom federal authorities describe as a close, personal associate of Spofford’s. Spofford denies having anything to do with any of it.

1082: Larry Wilcoxson

Larry Wilcoxson

Larry Wilcoxson is a senior advisor to Florida State Rep. Byron Donalds. He was a candidate himself in a 2014 race for county clerk which he lost. He had a conviction for grand theft auto that was vacated in 2022 and which was an injustice. He was exonerated. There are several arrests for miscellaneous charges such as firearms, forgery and credit card fraud, etc. He took probation for the forgery/credit card issue and it was adjudicated, meaning that after he completed probation it does not count as a conviction.

His former fiancée filed a restraining order alleging violence. He denies it.

Another serious allegation was made in his home state of Indiana where he was alleged to have a student he taught at a middle school, either a sixth or seventh grader. The case was not pursued even though there were allegations from several people and despite his being fired for exposing himself to a custodian. Later a thirteen-year-old girl claimed he molested her and gave her a nude photo of himself. She showed it to several classmates. The case was dismissed because the judge excluded one of the essential witnesses.

He has also been accused of using intimidation frequently, particularly toward women and toward fellow Republicans. There are videos of him shouting at a Republican woman at the grocery store and of him charging at a group of people at a Republican party event.

He departs widely from GOP orthodoxy and from his own employer’s views by alleging most of his trouble can be explained by racist assumptions about Black men. To be fair, that could be true.

997: Erich A. Bennett

Erich A. Bennett was a police officer in Sea Bright, New Jersey. He was arrested for using police databases to stalk and harass an ex-girlfriend.

They dated for a short time when she ended it in November 2022. On December 5th, he showed up at her home. At first, they had a civil conversation until he threatened to cut off her clitoris and slash her face. She blocked him on her phone and set up a Ring system with additional security cameras. Three days later, online harassment started up on social media. The harassing account traced back to Bennett. Her car was keyed and all her tires slashed. Her home was vandalized and her Ring and additional security cameras were stolen. Investigators said Bennett was in the area at the likely time of the vandalism.

Log-in records show he allegedly used police databases more than thirty times to get information on the woman and her network of friends and colleagues.

He was arrested in January and put on unpaid leave. He was charged with a pattern of official misconduct, two counts of official misconduct, two counts of computer theft, criminal mischief, making terroristic threats, cyber harassment, hindering apprehension, identity theft, and stalking.

He is held without bail because the judge and prosecutors agree he remains an ongoing threat.

983: Brian Stout

Brian Stout is a Republican Representative in the Oregon House. He ran for District 31 in 2018 and 2020 but lost to Democrat Brad Witt. After redistricting, the district was more Republican and he won in 2022 when Witt ran in a different district. However, one of his campaign volunteers alleged her sexually assaulted and threatened her and sought a protective order that was granted.

Stout claimed that she was making the allegation to help another Republican replace him so she could get a job in Salem. This is undercut by the fact she was a volunteer on Stout’s campaign. He claimed she was the aggressor and stalked him and was aggressive toward him. He also said the sex act that was interrupted by his wife was consensual and instigated by the woman. The woman says he threatened her with violence and touched her sexually multiple times, incidents she detailed.

Stout sought to vacate the order in court in May 2023 and lost, the judge sustained a five-year protective order and said he was not credible. This led to Stout’s removal from House Committees.

775: Vernon Jones

Vernon Jones is a former George State Representative, Dekalb County chief executive and frequent candidate. For most of his career he was a conservative Democrat. For example, he voted twice for George W. Bush and kept a portrait of Robert E. Lee in his office. He endorsed Trump in 2020 and joined the election-denying seditionists at the Stop the Steal rally where he announced he changed his party to Republican.

Running in the Republican Congressional primary in 2022, his opponents brought up allegations of rape that were made in 2005 by a woman who dropped the charge “out of fear.” According to her report to the police, he said he knew where she lived and he would find her. In an egregious act of police misconduct, the Dekalb County police chief whom Vernon Jones had appointed released her identity to the press with the incident report. She wrote a note saying she would not testify because of the harassment and the release of her name. She never recanted.

The woman went for medical attention and it was a nurse who called the police who came and took the woman’s statement. While she was still making her statement, Jones’ lawyer was contacting a witness suggesting the police gave Jones a heads-up. While Vernon Jones and his lawyer smeared the woman as political and attention-seeking, the police records show she was a reluctant accuser afraid of the media attention.

Several other women have filed complaints. One woman said he brandish a gun at her. Another said she was so afraid, she upgraded her home security. One woman was interviewed about flooding and she complained about lack of action. He was incensed and went to her home, raising his fists at her, telling her he knew he husband just died, all making her afraid. She filed a police report but nothing was done.
