Seriously, we love what we do, and our mission is simple. Inspired by VSL, Tonehammer, Sample Modeling, Soniccouture, and the likes—developers who have led the way to this new age of advanced virtual instruments—our goal is to help carry that tradition forward. We’re focused on creating tools that empower music-makers to explore new ideas and push musical boundaries, without the heavy price tag.
We’re meticulously natured audio nerds with a sharp attention to detail, but we design our instruments with authenticity at the forefront. Each one is a labor of love, crafted with care, and we hope that shines through in every note. Using state-of-the-art equipment and continually evolving our techniques, we push the envelope to set new standards in the industry.
But we do it all with a heavy dose of fun. Our eccentricity and silly antics are part of the process, because we believe the end-product should be just as fun as its creation. Whether it’s passion, obsession, or utter insanity—’deeply sampled’ has taken on a whole new meaning for us.
Embertone is led by Jonathan Churchill, a saxophonist and composer with a background in writing music for films, games, and commercial media. What began as a fascination with sample libraries quickly grew to obsession, and the co-founding of Embertone in 2011.
At its heart, Embertone is the artists and collaborators who bring every project to life. Their creativity and passion are the driving forces behind every instrument we create. Embertone’s tools are a reflection of their vision and skill, and the company is built on this collaboration. The combined talents of everyone involved shape Embertone and make it what it is today. With a growing catalog of award-winning instruments, Embertone continues to push the boundaries of music technology, inspiring creators everywhere.
