Deliver sustainable laptops

If your organisation is committed to reducing its carbon footprint, adopting a sustainable IT procurement strategy can significantly advance your ESG goals without compromising
on IT performance.

ESG report

Buying new laptops has a far-reaching environmental impact, particularly when accounting for Scope 3 emissions, those generated indirectly through production and supply chains.

From the resources required to the CO₂ emissions involved, the cost to the planet is significant, especially for medium or large businesses purchasing laptops in high volumes.
Our laptops offer significant cost savings compared to new, avoid the environmental toll of CO₂, water, and mining, and are completely carbon neutral. Choosing these laptops is a practical, sustainable solution that aligns with both business needs and environmental goals.

CO₂ reduction

316kg of CO₂ avoided

Our remanufactured laptop prevents approximately 316kg (700lb) of CO₂ emissions in comparison by not buying new. For just 1,000 laptops, that is the same as taking 80 cars off the road for a year. A measurable contribution toward Scope 3 reduction.

Water saving

190,000 litres of water saved

Our remanufactured laptops save over 190,000 litres (50,000 gallons) of water that would otherwise be used for the extraction, refining, and production of a new laptop. That’s enough drinking water to sustain the average American for more than 700 years.

Resource preservation

1,200kg of Earth’s resources saved

Our remanufactured laptops prevent the consumption of 1,200kg of Earth’s precious resources that are needed to produce a new one. This process also significantly reduces the e-waste created from improperly disposing of a laptop, providing a powerful environmental benefit.

Every laptop you buy is a certified carbon neutral product.

As part of our commitment to net zero and providing carbon neutral IT products, we are audited annually by Carbon Footprint.

Our carbon footprint has been assessed following ISO 14064-1 and the GHG Protocol. Any residual GreenHouse Gas emissions have been offset using verified projects to achieve carbon neutrality.

For every laptop we sell we provide a family with clean water for a week

When a Circular Computing laptop is purchased, not only do you get world-leading quality and a carbon-neutral product, you also help invest in providing clean, safe water for families who desperately need it.

For people in developing countries, clean water can change everything - health, time, education and female empowerment.

Until recently and in recent years, we have also supported reforestation projects. These helped vulnerable communities, supported clean energy projects, boosted local economies, protected woodland and helped to cool the Earth.

Net Zero: IT’s impact on the planet and people

The IT industry accounts for an estimated 2–4% of global greenhouse gas emissions, placing it on par with the aviation sector in terms of CO₂ impact – and as a sector it is growing faster.

Around 250 million laptops are manufactured each year – and most of a laptop’s emissions (75-85%) comes from manufacturing stage. Producing just one new device generates 331 kilograms of CO₂ as well as requires a significant amount of water and minerals. This underscores the urgent need to conserve resources, reduce the production of ‘new’, and prioritise high-quality remanufacturing.

We believe everyone in the IT sector must take responsibility and embrace more sustainable practices. With each purchase, you're not only acquiring a robust, reliable device but also contributing positively to your ESG report. Our commitment to net zero is unwavering, verified annually by Carbon Footprint following ISO 14064-1 and the GHG Protocol. Any residual greenhouse gas emissions are offset using accredited sustainability projects.

E-waste and the circular economy

The world generated 62 million tonnes of e-waste in 2022 alone which is enough to fill 1.55 million 40-tonne trucks circling the equator. According to the UN’s Global E-waste Monitor, e-waste is growing five times faster than recycling efforts, creating a mounting environmental crisis.

A circular economy is essential. By extending product life and reusing valuable materials, we can shift away from a throwaway culture and significantly reduce environmental harm. Circular Computing puts this principle into action, our remanufactured laptops aren’t just sustainable, they actively help close the loop. By choosing Circular Computing, you support a circular economy, cut e-waste, conserve resources, and drive positive change for people and planet.
