We go beyond

At Circular Computing, our Circular Remanufacturing Process enables us to go beyond the BSI Kitemark standard for remanufactured laptops to deliver The New New®.

The Circular Remanufacturing Process was created after years of research and development within our state-of-the art remanufacturing facility.

The Circular Remanufacturing Process is a 360 step, 5+ hour journey per laptop that delivers an unrivalled ‘like new’ cosmetic renewal and an RMA of less than 3%. Whether you are looking for 5 or 5,000 laptops, we deliver the same consistent, high standard.

Perfect screens
All screens are free from pressure marks and scratches - no exceptions and no compromise.

Durable keyboards
We do not just reprint keyboards - our unique process of repainting means you do not have to worry about keys fading or paint chipping.

Cosmetic renewal
Each laptop is dismantled into its major parts. Covers, palm rests, bezels and keyboards are all fully repaired and repainted. We repaint in matt, gloss and soft touch finishes to match that of the original laptop.

Attention to detail
Replacing components and details like broken or worn feet underneath the laptop is all part of the remanufacturing process.

Inside and outside
Alongside cosmetic refinishing, every unit is fully tested at component level - any worn or broken components are replaced or upgraded.

remanufactured laptops

The world’s first BSI Kitemark™ for
 remanufacturing laptops

The awarding of the BSI Kitemark certifies that our Circular Remanufacturing Process produces products ‘equal to or better than new’ as required by the BS standard BS8887-220 and BS8887-211 - but our innovation doesn't stop there.

Our remanufactured laptops are the global standard bearer for non-new laptops.

We initiated several research and development journeys to define the ‘how’, and, we have perfected our unique Circular Remanufacturing Process, which delivers the highest quality non-new laptops
in the world.

Every laptop undergoes our rigorous 5+ hour Circular Remanufacturing Process, ensuring a single, superior grade which is equal to new. We don’t believe in multiple grades; our process guarantees consistent, uncompromised quality, whether you need 5 or 5,000 laptops. Anything that doesn’t meet our exacting standards never leaves our facility.

Our remanufacturing facility

In 2015, we set out to answer a bold question: How can we remanufacture a laptop to be ‘like new’?

For us, ‘new’ meant more than a flawless exterior, it meant delivering uncompromised performance, reliability, and sustainability.

Our CEO, Rod Neale, identified the opportunity over a decade ago. “There was the gap in the market as I saw it 10 years ago - a bit that nobody was servicing correctly. We have spent this time refining our process so that we can cope with this demand and deliver a product that is like new in every way.”

Backed by years of research and a passion for our craft, we’ve built the world’s first dedicated laptop remanufacturing facility. Our Circular Remanufacturing Process extends the life of laptops, reduces e-waste, and lowers carbon emissions; all without compromising on quality.

Reman-Vs-Refurb

Our remanufactured vs
non- Circular Computing refurbished -
what is the difference?

Quality

Refurbished
Inconsistent Quality

Varying grades and condition based on opinion means you will never be able to guarantee a standard of product.

Remanufactured
Consistent quality

Every laptop goes through the same 5+ hour remanufacturing process (to BS 8887 standards) to create a single grade of product that is close to new. We commit to this quality whether you take 5 or 5,000 laptops.

Engineering

Refurbished
Basic Engineering

The traditional business model of minimum investment for maximum return means you will experience things such as vinyl skins being used to hide bad cosmetics.

Remanufactured
Precision engineering

Every laptop is separated into individual parts and repainted with state of the art robots using the exact matching colours and finishes of the original new product.

Testing

Refurbished
Limited testing

Varying levels of undocumented testing means you might be buying a laptop that has only been tested to turn on

Remanufactured
Rigorous testing

Every laptop undergoes Aiken testing as well as a minimum 3 hour stress test to run the major components at full load

Screens

Refurbished
Filtered Screens

Filtering the best of the stock means getting good screens in volume is difficult.

Remanufactured
Perfect Screens

Every single screen is dismantled and has at least one part replaced, which guarantees no scratches or pressure marks.

RMA

Refurbished
Higher RMA

Our customers tell us that they experience much higher RMA with traditional refurbished laptops

Remanufactured
Low RMA

We are currently running at less than 3% (based on 12 month rolling average of remanufactured laptops sold with a minimum of 12-month warranty).

Sustainability benefits

The IT industry significantly impacts the global carbon footprint, with the UK alone producing over 1.6 million tonnes of e-waste annually. This isn’t just harmful, it is wasteful, with £14 billion worth of precious metals discarded each year.

At Circular Computing, we saw a chance to change this narrative.

Our Circular Remanufacturing Process avoids depleting Earth’s limited resources like water, precious metals, and minerals while preventing unnecessary CO2 emissions. By reusing 99% of a laptop’s original materials with the remaining 1% going into our parts library or into plastic pallets, we ensure nothing is wasted. With over 180,000 spare parts in our collection, we’re redefining sustainable IT.

This commitment extends to our customers, who can include their carbon-saving efforts in Scope 3 Emissions reporting. Some new laptops are made with recycled plastic and we believe reusing tested components will simply become the norm, and our remanufactured laptops represent The New New®.
