We will also cover auditions, table work, the psychology of blocking, personal responsibility, integrity, and ethics, as well as how to build an environment where actors and designers can thrive. SUMMER 2026
The Motives of the Puppeteer with Andrew Fridae

Class Description: Puppeteering, like most arts that live on the fringes of theater, is usually approached from one of two directions; childlike play or strict theatrical pedagogy. This course will try to compass both of these attitudes, by touching on the limitations of live theatre, and investigating the purpose and power of puppets through a variety of playful and mind expanding activities. This class is designed to be hands-on, fun yet challenging, with mask making, puppet making storytelling and more. Suitable for adults of all experience levels and teens with a serious interest in puppetry or theater. Learn more about our Teaching Artists.
