Is McConnell Willing to Throw the GA Walker Race to Get Trump?

The operative sentence in this story is “That’s why it should come as absolutely no surprise that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) told CNN that he and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) will be working together to stop “MAGA Republicans.” Hershel Walker, the GOP candidate for Senator, is in a runoff for the seat in GA. The question- is he included in the “Stop MAGA Republicans.”

It’s been clear that as far as the Senate is concerned, McConnell was willing to do whatever was required to insure that he maintained his leadership position. If it cost a seat or two, no problem. His shifting millions of dollars in and out of senate races when it appeared the candidate might go rogue told us all we needed to know.

No use beating that dead horse itemizing his nastiness. Only one story needs to be told. The giving $9 million dollars to the Lisa Murkowsky race when she was running against a fellow GOPer, but a conservative, so the truth was revealed. She had always told McConnell she would have his back.

This brings us to the business of Hershel Walker and his run off race over the next three weeks. Will McConnell support Walker and give him the funding that he needs? And how much true energy will be put into it by the establishment? How much do they really want to get Trump?

Was a deal struck with Schumer? If Walker loses, a full majority will then go to the Democrats. It has been reported its “Too much in the weeds” to discuss what will happen. Well its not.

If the Democrats gain a full majority they will gain subpeona power. A 50-50 split has hearings only if both sides agree.

Just think of two full years of MAGA hearings regarding Trump. Non stop. A complicit media will faithlessly report anything negative out every night on the evening news. It’s up for grabs if they can require Trump to testify, either way they would give it one heck of a try.

This would probably destroy Trump and fellow MAGAs. Diminish other GOP House and Senate members that supported Trump.

In addition, a 50-50 divide insures that there are an equal number of GOP and Dems on Committees. No longer true if they have an absolute majority.

So how much do they really want to destroy Trump and his MAGA friends in congress? How much dishonesty can even anti-Trumpers really find acceptable on the GOP side? Willing to throw the majority to the Dems to get Trump?

The joyous GOP House, looking forward to hearings on all kinds of malfeasance especially the Bidens, will be easily overshadowed by any Senate hearing on MAGA Trump and his minions.

I pick up this story from MCRTV:

Chuck Schumer Says He Intends to Work with Mitch McConnell to Stop ‘MAGA Republicans’

What’s the old saying? ‘Birds of a feather flock together?’ I’m pretty sure that’s how that one goes. In any case, if you’ve been paying attention to politics over the last, oh, 30 years or so, you could see a correlation and unity between Republicans and Democrats who don’t like their power or establishment agendas challenged.

That’s why it should come as absolutely no surprise that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) told CNN that he and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) will be working together to stop “MAGA Republicans.”

Whether you’re a “MAGA Republican” or not, a move like this should encourage you a bit because the establishment elite clearly see a group of people that aren’t members of the “Uniparty” coming for their cushy positions among the Washington elite.

After CNN co-host Kaitlan Collins asked Schumer on Monday if he’s going to “talk to Mitch McConnell,” the senior senator from New York stated that he’s going to try and do more than just talk.

We certainly know how 80 year old McConnell feels about the Trump supported candidates. Add Especially Trump. From day one he has castigated the “quality” of some of the candidates running. He claims now his wisdom as he so wisely foretold this conclusion. Forget that he played a heavy hand in aiding the loss of a number of seats.

All is well in the swamp.

There were 95 Democrats who voted against the move to table the measure. Notable progressives, including Chairmen Jerry Nadler of the Judiciary Committee and Jim McGovern of the Rules Committee, voted “no” against the effort, along with members of the Congressional Black Caucus and Hispanic Caucus, some of the strongest voices for impeachment in Congress.

A large group of moderates, centrists and freshmen voted with Republicans, putting the divisive topic of impeachment on ice – for the time being.

House Democratic leaders avoided a direct vote on Rep. Al Green’s articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump with Republicans’ help, as Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy moved Wednesday to table the Texas Democrat’s resolution.

The motion was agreed to, 332-95, with Oregon Democrat Peter A. DeFazio voting “present.”

“In my opinion, it didn’t fail. In my opinion, we got 95 votes this time, 66 the last time. So that’s a plus. But whether we get 95 or 5, the point is we have to make a statement,” Green said after the vote.Read more

Vote Tally Count Resolution in support of ICE – Immigration and Customs

Now this took real courage. Since the House – Paul Ryan- couldn’t get the courage to force a vote on disbanding Ice thus getting everyone on the record, let’s do it this way. A nonbinding feel good moment that should get everyone off the hook. But wait – did it? Voting “Present” should be worth being called out during the fall election period. Individual votes link below.

The one major surprise was Amash voting ‘No’ – is he in a Muslim District?

  R   Amash, Justin MI 3rd

The House passed a nonbinding resolution saying lawmakers support the “officers and personnel who carry out the important mission of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement.” A two-thirds majority was needed to pass it, and because Democrats voted “present” instead of “no,” it passed easily in a 244-35 vote.

The final vote saw just 18 Democrats vote for the resolution, and 34 Democrats vote against it. But the vast majority of Democrats, 133, voted “present.”

Vote Tally Count Safe Act – Improved Refugee background check

On Wednesday, Senate Democrats successfully and predictably blocked what many conservatives described as Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)’s “Show Vote’”on refugee admissions.  Below are the links to individual votes.

Vote Summary By Senator Name By Vote Position By Home State

It has been called a show vote because the Ryan plan, even if the President signed it, would still allow the President to bring in an unlimited number of refugees from an unlimited number of countries.

Democrats’ filibuster on the motion to proceed to Ryan’s show vote comes one month after Speaker Ryan sent President Obama a blank check to fund visa issuances to nearly 300,000 (temporary and permanent) Muslim migrants in the next 12 months alone. Ryan’s decision to fully-fund Obama’s immigration agenda arguably ceded any leverage he may otherwise have had over Democrats and ensured the large-scale migration into America would continue and grow.

Ryan’s bill, known as the American SAFE Act, was blocked by 55-43.

This was a vote on “cloture” in the Senate, which means to end debate so that an up-or-down vote can be taken. A vote in favor is a vote to end debate and move to a vote on the issue itself, while a vote against is a vote to prolong debate or to filibuster.

The vote was related to H.R. 4038.

Vote Tally Count Immigration funding full fiscal year

(Reuters) – The House of Representatives approved full fiscal-year funding for the U.S. domestic security agency on Tuesday, dealing a blow to conservative Republicans who had wanted the bill to include language blocking President Barack Obama’s recent executive orders on immigration. (167 GOPers voted no)

The House, in a 257-167 vote, backed a Senate-passed funding bill stripped of any immigration provisions, ending a bitter fight that raised new questions about House Speaker John Boehner’s ability to manage fractious conservatives and brought the agency within hours of a partial shutdown last week.

Obama has said he will sign the funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security, which spearheads domestic counterterrorism efforts. Spending authority for the department was scheduled to end at midnight onFriday.More at Reuters

The White House promptly declared that Mr. Obama would veto the measure — which would force the approval of a proposed 1,179-mile oil pipeline from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico — in a stroke of the pen that is expected to be the opening shot in a series of vetoes of Republican measures.

The Senate voted 60 to 36 in favor of building the pipeline. 62-36

Passage of the Senate bill sends the measure back to the House, which passed a largely similar bill earlier this month. House leaders are still deciding whether to simply pass the Senate bill as it is, or to hold a conference merging the House and Senate bills into a new bill, which would then be voted on by each chamber.

The final tally was 273-to-156. But many members of both parties broke ranks with their leaders — Reps. John Boehner and Nancy Pelosi — who strongly backed the measure.

According to a count by NBC News’ Frank Thorp, 114 Democrats voted in favor of the measure; 85 voted no. Republicans broke down similarly voting 159-to-71.
