NYC Adams’ 4 Deputy Mayors Resign, Hochul Wants to Remove him

This simple story of the Mayor of New York City has more twists and turns. Since he is up for re-election, one has to wonder why the voters aren’t left with the task of dispatching him, and why is Hochul determined to make him a cause celeb for herself. Then we have the twist of Trump stepping in and giving him a pass and pulling off the feds and their dogs.

Axios reports: New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) said she’s meeting with “key leaders” at her Manhattan office Tuesday to discuss a “path forward” after four top officials in NYC Mayor Eric Adams‘ administration resigned.

Why it matters: Hochul said in her Monday statement the resignation of First Deputy Mayor Maria Torres-Springer and the other officials “raises serious questions about the long-term future” of Adams’ administration and acknowledged she has the power to remove the mayor from office.

The big picture: Torres-Springer and deputy mayors Meera Joshi, Chauncey Parker and Anne Williams-Isom resigned after a top Justice Department official requested federal prosecutors drop federal bribery and fraud charges against the indicted mayor and Adams’ cooperation with the Trump administration on border security.

  • The mayor, who has denied any wrongdoing in the case and pleaded not guilty to all charges, has resisted pressure to resign.

Zoom in: Hochul noted that “in the 235 years of New York State history,” the governor’s power to remove an elected had never been used and that “overturning the will of the voters is a serious step that should not be taken lightly.”

This video was done four months ago, but Dan gives a great overview of the full extent of whatever is going down. I say something doesn’t smell right here.

All in all the swamp is working overtime with this poor fellow. What say you? What’s the deal?

F.B.I. Raids Homes of 2 of Mayor Adams’ top aides, NYPD phones subpoenaed

What in the world is going down in New York City? Mayor Adams? The chickens are coming home to roost.

NEW YORK (WABC) — The FBI came to the homes of two of New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ closest aides, sources told ABC News, and subpoenaed the cellphones of at least seven people in the NYPD, including one belonging to Commissioner Edward Caban.

The FBI came to the Hamilton Heights home of First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright and the Hollis, Queens home of Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Phil Banks, where agents asked them to surrender their phones, the sources said.

It began Wednesday morning but the news broke on Thursday afternoon. It is likely they both occurred at dawn Wednesday.

But then again, as we watch these Blue State cities descend into chaos amid the call for DEI, this is what we get. Perhaps not the cream of the crop.

Mayor Eric Adams shows off his diverse administration: “Have you ever seen this much chocolate leading the city of New York??!! This is why they hating on me!” He then compares himself to Jesus for assembling such a non-White team.

Imagine a white mayor saying, “Have you seen this much vanilla leading the city of NY?” While going on to compare himself to Jesus.

The very best of the swamp.

Mayors Johnson and Adams and their Mental Breakdowns over the Migrant Crisis.

Mayor Adams compares himself to Jesus. Johnson begs for sympathy. “I have a black wife with a black family.” The pressure mounts on the black mayors of Chicago and New York City who are finally being held accountable with the migrant invasion into their cities. They don’t know how to deal with the disfavor.

The two are in a terrible bind. The community wants an end to the migrants taking all of what they perceive is their stuff. On the other hand, the party needs these migrants for the next census. Of course they pull out the Black biz for cover but it is getting so yesterday.. but what else is new?

Mayor of Chicago Brandon Johnson: In other words the translation.

I am having difficulty doing what I promised and things are hitting the fan” “also I’m black with a black family so you are required to overlook my ineptness”

The mayor of New York City takes it even farther with his exact words:

Mayor Eric Adams shows off his diverse administration: “Have you ever seen this much chocolate leading the city of New York??!! This is why they hating on me!” He then compares himself to Jesus for assembling such a non-White team.

Imagine a white mayor saying, “Have you seen this much vanilla leading the city of NY?” While going on to compare himself to Jesus.

The two show themselves..

They certainly are leading.

Any questions about the swamp?

Postscript: I have a follow up on yesterday’s post regarding the drug cartels setting up shop on Native American Reservations:

During her remarks, Gov. Noam made multiple references to the ravages of fentanyl and other drugs in South Dakota’s reservation communities — drugs she said got there thanks to Mexican drug cartels.  She offered to support the Oglala Sioux in a lawsuit filed against the federal government for failing to adequately address public safety on the reservation.

Mustang’s Update:

News agencies on Monday reported that because of Gov. Kristi Noem’s statement last week about drug activities on Indian Reservations, South Dakota Indian tribes banned her from their reservations.  What is interesting about this is that the Indians decided to ban the messenger but not the drug cartels, and this seems to indicate that Indian leadership is seriously lacking — to the detriment of their people.  It is a revolting development, but I’m not surprised.  We demonstrated in the original post that drug sales, distribution, and use on Indian Reservations throughout the United States are endemic.  Indian leadership can deny this all they want — but a more responsible course of action would be to ban drug cartels, not concerned state officials.

And that folks is the best of the swamp.

Adams Thinks New York Should House Migrants in Private Residences

Let every house be a sanctuary house. Since the housing of “migrants” is going so well in the hotels in Gotham, let’s add to it and put them in private residences.  Meanwhile Biden says, You see, the border
is “looking much better.”

Mayor Adams has a solution to all of it. Distribute the crime and wealth of it all.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Monday said regular New Yorkers should house the busloads of illegal aliens arriving in The City. How about a few of him in his crib?

Adams said he wants to house the illegals in private residences.

“It is my vision to take the next step to this faith-based locales and then move to a private residence,” Adams said during a City Hall press conference.

“There are residents who are suffering right now because of economic challenges. They have spare rooms,” he added.

“We can take that $4.2 billion — $4.3 maybe now — that we anticipate we have to spend and we can put it back in the pockets of everyday, everyday houses of worship instead of putting it in the pockets of corporations,” he said. “We should be recycling our own dollars.”

Adams said City Hall would have to figure out how to get around the “30 day rule”  that bars the city from housing homeless people in private residences although he didn’t offer up any specifics.

Biden says it’s all better.

The best of the swamp.

Black Lives Matter Newsome threatens violence in NYC

This should be an interesting rumble in New York City. Perchance the new Mayor just may put a stop to this nonsense of intimidation by Black Lives Matter. Supporting the police seems to be a good start for the new Mayor Adams. Good luck:

Hawk Newsome, the activist who threatened “bloodshed” after a sit-down with Mayor-elect Eric Adams earlier this week, is a rogue militant and failed politician who likes to wear a bullet-proof vest and chew on a fat cigar when he strolls through his Bronx neighborhood.

Newsome’s incendiary statements and criticisms of the national Black Lives Matter movement have earned him international headlines but also made him a pariah among leaders of the civil rights cause. And the IRS yanked his group’s charitable status for failing to file financial reports, The Post has learned.

On Wednesday, when Adams, a former NYPD captain, vowed to bring back the force’s controversial Anti-Crime Unit, which was disbanded after widespread anti-police protests last year, Newsome, 44, threatened total anarchy.

Newsome followed up the threats with a social media post on Thursday while waiting for a flight at JFK Airport. “Mayor Elect Eric Adams want to Bring back the NYPD Anti-Crime unit that murdered SEAN BELL, AMADOU DIALLO, and ERIC GARNER,” Newsome said in the post to his 29,200 Instagram followers, referring to some New York City victims of police violence. “We can’t let that slide….You and I both know that we are up against an Evil and violent system.”

The mayor-elect doubled down on his promise Thursday, saying: ‘This is what I’m going to do. That was my promise and I’m going to keep it.’

Adams and Newsome also clashed about accountability on Wednesday, with the mayor-elect hitting back at the activist and saying he, too, needs to be held accountable – not just sit back and make demands.

The soon-to-be-mayor also shot back at the group during their closed-door meeting: ‘You’re on the ground: Stop the violence in my community. I’m holding you accountable.

‘Don’t hold me accountable,’ Adams went on. ‘Being the mayor, being the borough president, being the state senator – I put my body on the line for my community, so I’m not here for folks to come and say, “Eric, we’re gonna hold you accountable.”‘

And that is the best of the swamp today

Obama blames U.S. for rise of terrorist threat by “feeding extremism”

I admit it. I watched Zero address the American Legion yesterday. I had some degree of hope that the Legion members might set Obama back on his heels a bit. He snoozed the members with his usual non-emotional tone, and they remained somewhat polite. All and all his remarks were ridiculous and made little sense. This was the high point. Of course, it is our fault for the terrorism, Forget that Jefferson and Adams held the view that these Muslim fellows would always be a problem

Via Breitbart:

Monday at the American Legion’s 96th National Convention, President Barack Obama said the answer for ISIS’s “evolving terrorist threat” is not for America to “occupy” countries and end up “feeding extremism.” […]

“The answer is not to send in large-scale military deployments that over stretch our military, and lead for us occupying countries for a long period of time and end up feeding extremism.”

Part of an earlier post:

Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and the Middle East

In 1786, Jefferson, then the American ambassador to France, and Adams, then the American ambassador to Britain, met in London with Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja, the “Dey of Algiers” ambassador to Britain.

The Americans wanted to negotiate a peace treaty based on Congress’ vote to appease.

During the meeting Jefferson and Adams asked the Dey’s ambassador why Muslims held so much hostility towards America, a nation with which they had no previous contacts.

In a later meeting with the American Congress, the two future presidents reported that Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja had answered that Islam “was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Quran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman (Muslim) who should be slain in Battle was sure to go to Paradise.”

For the following 15 years, the American government paid the Muslims millions of dollars for the safe passage of American ships or the return of American hostages. The payments in ransom and tribute amounted to 20 percent of United States government annual revenues in 1800.

Not long after Jefferson’s inauguration as president in 1801, he dispatched a group of frigates to defend American interests in the Mediterranean, and informed Congress.

Declaring that America was going to spend “millions for defense but not one cent for tribute,” Jefferson pressed the issue by deploying American Marines and many of America’s best warships to the Muslim Barbary Coast.
