The mission of the Bexley Recreation and Parks Department is to enhance the quality of life for Bexley residents by providing recreational programs, leisure opportunities, well-maintained parks, and strengthening the foundation of our community.
If you've been looking to get more involved in the Bexley community, you've come to the right place. Bexley Recreation and Parks releases three activity brochures a year–winter/spring, fall, and summer. These brochures include upcoming activities, community events, and other major programming.

Scholarship Opportunities
On December 19th, 2003, the Bexley Recreation Department lost a member of our family to cancer. Marianna Holbrook passed away after a 14-year battle with cancer. Marianna was an integral part of Bexley Recreation and worked for the City of Bexley for over 18 years. Marianna had such a deep level of commitment to her job and touched so many lives throughout her years of service.
The Marianna Holbrook Youth Scholarship Fund was created in her memory in 2004. Initially set up to assist the youth of Bexley, we have since opened up those parameters to provide financial assistance to individuals and families of all ages and backgrounds who may find it challenging to afford the costs associated with recreational programs, including sports, arts, fitness classes, and more.
Unfortunately, not everyone can experience Bexley Rec and our various activities. You can help! This fund is solely based on donations and some financial support from the City of Bexley to help maintain a healthy balance of funds.
Suppose you need assistance or would like to inquire about program assistance. In that case, you can ask if you qualify to apply for a scholarship and provide some basic financial information.
We base our scholarship qualifications on the Federal Poverty Guidelines by the US Department of Health and Human Services.
All applications are kept confidential.
All applications must accompany the previous year’s 1040 Income Tax Form.
