The Problem:
In their day-to-day operation, the Kingston Technology Centre utilized a library of spreadsheets and template documents to capture the information required to meet their saftey and regulatory standards. They had access to platforms such as Microsoft SharePoint and Powerapps but lacked the time and onsite resources to modernize their processes using these tools.
Our Solution:
Focusing on the underlying business process first Belsham has leveraged their existing environments simplify the collection and processing of information. As more and more processes move online, the connections within the SharePoint become stronger and more apparent, opening up the potential for improved analysis and reporting in the future.
The Approach:
While keeping focus on the processes in place rather than the utility of the templated document, there is a brief discovery phase where Belsham presents a suggested new data model. Following the approval of the new model, a development cycle begins and the team builds the solution within the client’s infrastructure. Live testing and support follow to fine tune the solution before continued effort moves into the general support contract that we maintain with the site.
Evolution:
Initially the solutions being created were case-by-case replacements for existing processes that would slow down operation. Consolidating the data collection on-site has since shifted how the information is interrelated, using data from one process to auto-populate fields in another, and even building new processes with this connectivity in mind.
Belsham has been a great partner in delivering low-code applications that are both practical and well-aligned with our business needs.
Their ongoing support with KTC has ensured the solutions continue to evolve and deliver value.
