ZAERO is a specialized aeroelastic and aeroservoelastic analysis suite used to predict and mitigate phenomena such as flutter, divergence, gust response, and control-system interactions in aerospace vehicles. It couples structural dynamic models with unsteady aerodynamic representations to evaluate stability margins and dynamic response across subsonic to supersonic regimes, supporting both frequency- and time-domain workflows. Engineers use ZAERO to generate V-g and V-f plots, perform p–k flutter analysis, build state-space aerodynamic models via rational-function approximation, and assess the impact of control laws on structural dynamics. Typical applications include aircraft wings, control surfaces, UAVs, missiles, and flexible space structures, with workflows that integrate smoothly with industry-standard finite-element models.
