Blood sample needed to go to hospital lab on ice. Lab don’t provide ice. No ice in hospital apparently. So we’ve just sent a blood sample to the lab in a frozen cottage pie 👍🏼

A hospital with a 12 hour on/off covid rota is demanding junior doctors take 1.25 days of leave per shift off. Petty - you’ve only ever allowed to take a normal 9-5 day ‘in lieu’ for a 13 hour flogging on Bank Holidays. Pathetic and an example of how #NHS treats staff #COVIDー19

He talks as if cancer diagnoses and treatments were delayed because the tubes weren’t running or Primark wasn’t open. How can he not understand it is the virus that is responsible and suppression of its spread is the only way to keep the NHS open and able to function.

I'm often told to 'stick to cancer' so let me do that. Disruption caused to diagnosis, treatment and research will cost countless lives. Coronavirus tunnel vision has caused the biggest cancer crisis in my lifetime. It's a disaster. I will continue to raise awareness of that.

Sharing new data from #TRACERx this morning. 🟡 Pre-op #ctDNA stratifying 171 patients with untreated early stage #NSCLC studied using ultra-sensitive assay @PersonalisInc 🟡 Adenos had 100% 5yr OS if ctDNA -ve 🟡 ctDNA +ve <80 PPM poor OS/RFS vs ctDNA -ve #LCSM #ESMO23

Crikey this is great. Bit of tumour out, swizz it on the minION, quick bit of bioinformatics while the surgeon has a cup of tea and a biscuit, then you’ve figured out tumour type and hence how aggressive the resection need be. @jereon_deridder nature.com/articles/s4158…
