If tariffs are the greatest and trade wars are easy to win, why do you have to buy the political silence of the farmers?
Tariffs are the greatest! Either a country which has treated the United States unfairly on Trade negotiates a fair deal, or it gets hit with Tariffs. It’s as simple as that - and everybody’s talking! Remember, we are the “piggy bank” that’s being robbed. All will be Great!

Bill is the king of understatement. There have been countless BLS revisions, and many BLS Commissioners, but only ONE sitting President has fired a BLS head. You do the math.
The totally groundless firing of Dr. Erika McEntarfer, my successor as Commissioner of Labor Statistics at BLS, sets a dangerous precedent and undermines the statistical mission of the Bureau. For a full statement opposing this move, read: friendsofbls.org/updates/2025/8…

Mulvaney’s words washex.am/2sjixea are a disgrace, reflect more poorly on him than CBO, and show budget ignorance. Should apologize.

I really want to believe that @realDonaldTrump has a NAFTA strategy. But this just seems like lighting yourself on fire and then praying your neighbors will put it out.

The White House is amazing. Tariffs are not taxes but taxes are tariffs. It is hard to imagine a less economically literate administration than Biden’s but …
While we wait for this White House reciprocal tariff announcement, here's your reminder that VATs are not tariffs.

Yes, Justin. Great. Day 1 we have demand subsidies for a housing price problem and produce controls for food inflation. Tell your economics department to keep up the good work.
"The list of economists who've said they will willingly serve under Trump is the least impressive list of economists in history." Trump's going to make up policy on the fly, and he doesn't have a remotely competent econ team. No serious Republican economist will work with him.

Either the tariffs remake the economy or they are open for negotiation. Can’t have both ways
Tariff Negotiations: The minute 1 country is able to reach a deal, it will signal to other countries & markets that negotiations are really on the table. Bessent says it’s up to the President while Lutnick says tariffs are coming no matter what. Let’s see tomorrow #tariffs

In the WH rollout there is zero info on these individuals. How much do they make? What is their profession? Net worth? Why do they deserve $100k from other Americans? Ask the WH and … crickets.
Do you realize this new $9Billion student loan "plan" involves POTUS handing nearly $100K each to 53,000 public service employees? americanactionforum.org/daily-dish/stu…

"I’ll stay on the record that I think tax cuts will pay for themselves," -- US Treasury Sec. Steve Mnuchin at #Davos He says the first two years -- where the deficit has grown nearly 50% -- have been "right in line" with his projections. He says revenues are likely to pick up

An immeasurable loss. She is the greatest public servant I’ve ever known.
I was honored to have known Alice Rivlin, a pioneering and influential economist who also blazed a trail for women in the field.
