Godspeed to @Snide_Remarks, the hardest-working guy I know. Rick suffered a stroke Aug. 11 and died peacefully this afternoon. We were friends for 38 years, worked on many projects together, and rarely went more than a few days without staying in touch. I’m devasted by this loss.

- Replying to @washingtonpostWe had one of these trees throughout the ‘70s. The silver tree also came with a rotating 4-color wheel with a backlight that reflected red, green, blue and yellow off the tree. It was quite the spectacle.
- Replying to @sarafischer and @margarettalevFairly certain this doesn't exist anywhere on the planet outside of the beltway.
- At the crossing of Weller Road and Georgia Avenue in Glenmont, a stunning sunset this evening, thanks to the colorful aurora from the northern lights. @TenaciousTopper @capitalweather @NWS_BaltWash @SourcetheSpring @hbwx @MoCo360Media @WheatonMD
- Walked out of Aldi at sunset this evening and saw this stunning silhouette through the Alamo-like facade at Plaza del Mercado in Layhill. Big ol' wowzers!
- Replying to @GWtweetsI didn't think it was possible, but a team's new nickname just made the Washington Commanders look like the gold standard.
- Replying to @Super70sSportsGolden Girls' ages in 1985: Rue McClanahan, 51 Estelle Getty, 62 Betty White, 63 Bea Arthur, 63 My age today: 62 Summation: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
- 1942 NFL Championship #Redskins watch fob given to players and coaches, the Super Bowl ring of that era. These things are exceedingly rare.
- Now that the k.a.t. is out of the bag, I’m excited to be carrying the baton for JP as editor and publisher to get his book across the finish line. From a 140,000-word chronology in July to a leaner, slicker narrative in October, this history of “The Sports Junkies” is fantastic.Announced this today, the story of four childhood friends chasing a dream and realizing it with heart, humor and soul.
- Replying to @jareddiamond and @WSJSportsGee, no one foresaw gambling corruption—from athletes, coaches, sportsbooks, media, Wall Street, technology and foreign governments. Nope. No one.
- When JP and I met for the first time last July at the Silver Diner in Rockville, the big question was: Could we get the manuscript shaped, edited, and printed in time for the holiday buying season. We did. To sell 4,000 books in 90 days through self-publishing is quite a feat. When I announced that I had written “Still Barking” about 25 years of @JunksRadio on 11/2, I had no idea how many books I’d sell. Humbled and honored by the continued support and the reviews. StillBarking.com
GIF - Replying to @JoePomplianoHate it. One wrong step, and you won't stop rolling until you're in Lake Union. This incline makes it very difficult to take concessions to seats and slows exit after games. For older people or those with smaller kids, it's a nightmare.
- Amazing day at #BrooksideGardens. As the snow was winding down, the hollow was a tapestry of winter beauty with a thick sky, hazy snowfall, almost no color, and stillness. Never seen the gardens this way. @MontgomeryParks @MikeRileyParks @VisitMoCo @WheatonMD @SourcetheSpring
- Replying to @itsJeffTiedrichI'm here for the snappy snark, and I'm definitely stealing this line: "How do you get the fork to your mouth without poking yourself in the eye?" Royalties are forthcoming, too.
