- Strong to severe thunderstorms remain possible today and Friday amid a hot, humid, and unstable atmosphere. Heavy rain, gusty winds, and isolated hail are possible during the afternoon & evening hours. Additionally, heat indices of 100º to 105º F are possible. Drier Saturday.
- Special Marine Warning including the Chesapeake Bay from Pooles Island to Sandy Point MD, Chesapeake Bay from Sandy Point to North Beach MD and Chester River to Queenstown MD until 6:00 PM EDT
- Special Marine Warning including the Chesapeake Bay from Pooles Island to Sandy Point MD, Chesapeake Bay north of Pooles Island MD and Patapsco River including Baltimore Harbor until 5:30 PM EDT
GIF- 5:37am: Early morning radar reveals widespread showers tracking across the region. Brief heavy downpours and lightning are possible with some of this activity as it passes between now and 10am. This will affect the morning commute with wet roads and lower visibility at times.
- Daily t-storm chances begin today w/ severe t-storms possible in the afternoon & evening through Friday. Heat & humidity also increase, with a major heat risk Thursday afternoon & Friday afternoon.
- 1156pm 6/9: Some heavy downpours are developing over central WV, and will likely reach western MD/eastern WV between 2-4am. Some lightning is possible, but severe/flooding threat is very low.
- A few showers are currently moving through the western portions of the region as a warm front pushes through. Lows will be in the 60s tonight as humidity begins to increase over the next several days. Daily t-storm chances start tomorrow afternoon as low pressure tracks eastward.
- Visible satellite shows mostly cloudy skies across the area. Mostly cloudy skies are expected to persist through the rest of the day. Conditions should remain dry for most, but a few showers or thunderstorms may be possible to the west of I-81 later this afternoon.
GIF - TUESDAY JUNE 9, 2026: There is a chance of t-storms west of I-81. Otherwise, more clouds than sun and increasing humidity. Much hotter and more humid by mid-week with increased thunderstorm chances.
- As of 245 PM, visible satellite imagery shows mostly cloudy skies across much of the forecast area. Dry conditions are expected to persist through the rest of the day.
