Yahoo IMAP Settings
Important Note: Yahoo requires app passwords for third-party applications. This guide will help you generate an app password for secure access.
- To use Yahoo backup tools or email clients, you need to generate an app password from your Yahoo account settings.
- Login to your Yahoo account and navigate to the Account Info page.
- Click on Account Security option and then select "Generate app password" under the security settings.
- Select your app type and provide a custom name for identification. Click on "Generate Now" to create a temporary password that can be used for Yahoo account backup or email client access.
Success! You have now successfully generated an App Password. Use this password in your email client's IMAP settings.

- Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
- Port: 993
- Security: SSL/TLS
- Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
- Port: 465
- Security: SSL/TLS
