AOL IMAP Settings
Important Note: AOL requires app passwords for third-party applications. This guide will help you generate an app password for secure access.
Follow these steps to generate an app password for your AOL Mail account:
- Sign in to your AOL account and go to AOL account security settings: https://login.aol.com/account/security
- Click on the Generate App password option in the security settings.
- From the dropdown menu, select the appropriate app type for which you want to generate the password.
- Enter a descriptive name for the application (e.g., "Softaken AOL Backup Software") and click on the Generate button.
- Your app password has been successfully generated. Use this password to sign in to the Softaken AOL Backup software.
Success! You have now successfully generated an App Password. Use this password in your email client's IMAP settings.

- Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server: imap.aol.com
- Port: 993
- Security: SSL/TLS
- Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.aol.com
- Port: 465
- Security: SSL/TLS
