The use of artwork files or convert vector files in the area of screen-printing is a must if you are looking for clean artwork and images that will print clearly onto all types of apparel. Vectorized files allow artists and screen-printers to separate the colors individually, allowing them to print their screen easily and quickly for each color needed. Vector files (scalable graphic files/scalable vector graphics) are key essential “tools” to print films and burn screens for your screenprinting needs.
Depending upon the use and the style of the artwork you are converting to a vector file, the color scheme can differ from file to file. For example, is the logo fairly simple using only four different colors that you can match distinctly, then spot color processing is the way to go. However, if the artwork file is an actual photograph, or there is a lot of detail and many colors in the artwork, CMYK 4 color processing color separations may be the best route. The difference between the two is not necessarily the number of colors, but what colors are used, and how they are implemented.
A CMYK is 4 color process, which prints out much like a laser printer, using four colors: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black. CMYK process mixes a certain amount of each to achieve the final look. Whereas spot color processing uses specific colors that are needed in the vector artwork. For example, for a file that only has 4 colors, (red, black, green, and blue, for instance) you can use just those colors instead of trying to mix them together.
There are many file formats in the vector process, such as png to svg, convert a jpg to eps, png to ai (Adobe Illustrator). Upload the image online and we can turn the original artwork into a vector format file. We can resave it into an SVG PDF format if needed. We can help in converting a grid of pixels to a print-ready file (camera ready).
Converting vector files from the raster images takes (possibly) less than 1 day. When we convert an image to vector format from raster graphics, the Vectorized output is print friendly and looks clean compared to the original pixel-based image. We can also make customizations to the design when redrawing in vector, since it is done by real artists rather than an automatic process. Examples are making a black and white image into a color image, changing the wording on a design, and moving parts and objects around. Making changes like this to vector images is easy, as you can simply use the selection tool to move things around and change the colors.
