WinRunner, developed by Mercury Interactive Corp., is an automated functional and regression testing tool designed for Windows-based and web applications. It allows QA teams to record and replay user interactions, create maintainable scripts with its C-like Test Script Language (TSL), and verify application behavior using checkpoints for objects, text, and images. Its object recognition and GUI Map help stabilize tests as interfaces evolve, while synchronization features manage timing in dynamic UIs.

WinRunner supports data-driven testing by parameterizing inputs from external sources such as spreadsheets and databases, and it integrates with Mercury’s TestDirector/Quality Center for test management and defect tracking. With optional add-ins, it can test technologies including web, Java, and enterprise platforms like SAP and Oracle. Widely adopted in the late 1990s and early 2000s, WinRunner shaped modern GUI test automation practices. After Mercury’s acquisition by HP, it was phased out in favor of HP QuickTest Professional (later UFT).

WinRunner is developed by Mercury Interactive Corp. and is used by 2 users of Software Informer. The names of program executable files are IconB7A0CB70.exe, IconDF6A8450.exe, teconf32.exe and wrun.exe. This particular product is not fit to be reviewed by our informers.
