Ping went my phone … It was this week’s SoCs prompt from our very busy and efficient host Linda G Hill. Here’s what she said. “Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “love.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun, and happy Valentine’s Day!”
Jump she said , How high? Was his gentle reply. He would do anything for her Yet she scorned him and treated him like a cur. Presents he lavished on her daily She accepted them then dismissed him gayly She was always on her way out Never a thank you, her mouth a permanent pout. One day he could take no more So he pushed a note through her door. “I can’t go on trying to win your favour. I am wasting my time, it shows in your behaviour. He was gone and she was on her own She was shocked to the core, cut right to the bone. She really had not realized how much he’d done for her No she did not see she loved him til he was no longer there!
This week Ronovanwrites gives us the prompt Politics. He says “You don’t have to use the word in your poem, you can just use it as inspiration.
The Amerian Cinquain style is named as such because of it’s creator, the American poet Adelaide Crapsey. Learn about Adelaide and her short but productive life here. Creative, brilliant, and tragedy.

Welcome back to another WDYS prompt
Do these pictures inspire you to write something?
For the visually challenged reader, this image shows a young woman sitting sideways. Her left arm is exposed and shows a tattoo. The tattoo says in red ink; “Love yourself not me”

She always knew best, they all thought, she was the coolest in the gang! They all thought. She led by example .. her fashion her style. Then she met Ethan. The day she finally revealed her latest tattoo was planned right down to the last detail. She wanted to make a point… She wanted to end it with him… Privately not with all the others watching She sat on the ledge of the multistorey car park next to Ethan, her abusive controlling boyfriend ! Slowly she rolled her sleeve up and revealed her arm. Ethan as was not impressed, not only had she got another tattoo without asking him .. he didn’t like it’s meaning. Looking him in the eyes she said “you don’t love me you just want to own me , and it’s all because you are insecure and have never felt loved.” She was right, he knew it, she knew it but he didn’t want to be told. Rage in his eyes he pushed her … She didn’t stand a chance…she flew through the air silently…As she hit the ground twenty stories below with a thud she stopped the traffic. She was dead …gone…Ethan felt no remorse he was still angry…
For the visually challenged reader, this image shows a few flowers lying on the parapet of a high-rise building. In the blurred background, the tall buildings of a cityscape can be seen.

The investigation into the young girls death was finally abandoned… unfortunately the CCTV had not been working that week and no one had seen her go up to the roof of the car park. No one knew what had happened, or that under her bright persona was a frighten and bullied girl. They all bought flowers and trinkets to the ledge as a tribute to her. They all noticed that the first flowers were three orange Gerbera and a huge Daisy like flower. ..Her name way Daisy. They all noticed too that Ethan was conspicuous by his absence.
No one ever saw Ethan again , they didn’t know he’d left town the next day . Unfortunately for Ethan he’d tripped and fallen in front of a lorry and had been killed . It was a freak accident. Some say they saw a young girl standing at the curb ….She was pointing to a tattoo on her arm.
Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).
Today’s word is “marionette.”
Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.
I have taken up the challenge today and written a dark hollween type poem for this prompt. Then I chose some music to go with it and they are rather dark. So here is a dark prompt!.
Marionette
Held By strings I dangle My every move By your desire No free will for me now Though I spin and pirouette My spirit is no longer mine I must dance to your will for all time You’re my master, I your marionette Cut These strings And I will Fall . I sold my Soul to the devil You demon, you tricked me Now , trapped I cannot escape You do as you please with my life. I have found a knife my solution My life’s blood comforts me as I escape.
I have listened dutifully to your advice. I’ve been the waxing moon to your glowing sun, you’ve stolen my energy and fun . Stop now is my advice step away I have had enough.
At Kat Myrman‘s suggestion, along with Jane Dougherty, I’m trying out the Lune form this month. The Lune is a three line poem, either 5/3/5 syllables or 3/5/3 words.
Welcome to my “Heartland Echoes,” where I aim to share my poems with the world, along with my survival story and autobiography of childhood abuse, motivational quotes, and much more. Through my words, I hope to inspire others to share their own stories and experiences. Each poem is a piece of my heart and soul, along with a story of a traumatic past, crafted with inspiration, Hope, faith, love and passion. I believe that by sharing our art and emotions, I’ll be able to connect with others on a deeper level and create a sense of community.
