#TankaTuesday Poetry Challenge No. 58, Fools Abound! 03/31/26

This week out host for Tanka Tuesday is Yvette . Who says ” We are at the end of March and at the precursor to the fun (and sometimes annoying) holiday of April Fools Day! There are many theories about how this holiday originated. For this week, write a poem about types of fools or fun or annoying pranks. Find a syllabic poetry form that works for you, and let your inspiration flow. Need help finding a form? Click here.

I have chosen to write an Abhanga poem. The fool is known to all and sadly around all year long.

Mockingly the knave bows,
Golden mirrors shatter.
Bombs drop, hear the clatter
It is no joke.

I want it all he screams!
Haha says the sad clown
His words spreading a frown
There’s nothing left.

Gone, blown to kingdom come
Fuel no more a worry
No sense left to parry
Has fool the won?

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS March 28, 2026. Portrait.

Ping went my phone and it was LindaGHill with the prompt for SoCs this week. Here’s what she had to say:”Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “portrait.” Use it way you’d like. Have fun!

Perfectly captured a portrait of now
Oh! They are here and in plain sight.
Reality is screaming their names.
Too late we see them waiting.
Ready to overpower us.
Already they’ve fingers on the buttons.
It’s too late to stop them now
Truth is it, is our own fault.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS March 7, 2026

Ping went my phone : it was LindaGHill with her prompt for SoCs . Here’s what she said.”Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “distance.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

The distance grows
As hatred flows
We need to stop
We need to think
The words increase the distance
Hate makes futile any resistance
We need to stop
We need to think.
Why are we so stupid and so blind
Were all the same we are all mankind
We need to stop
We need to think.
Still the distance grows
Still the hatred flows

Are they tired or just sad.
Do they know it is time to build an ark
Fear is here watch it creep
Covering the planet slowly.
So bad.

Cinquain Poetry Prompt 39: POLITICS is your inspiration.

This week Ronovanwrites gives us the prompt Politics. He says “You don’t have to use the word in your poem, you can just use it as inspiration.

The Amerian Cinquain style is named as such because of it’s creator, the American poet  Adelaide Crapsey. Learn about Adelaide and her short but productive life here. Creative, brilliant, and tragedy.

RUBBISH

The way  you  look at  me  sometimes

That  tone of  voice  you  use,  cuts really  deep

You  punish me  for  unknown crimes

The  fear  of  repercussions wakes me from  my sleep.

I cannot  spend my  life  walking on  eggshells

I can no  longer  fight  the  demons

You  make  me  feel  like  rubbish

I am rubbish

Intentional or not willow found she was constantly slipping behind…. She was not able to keep up.
Then things got worse! She kept getting things wrong, whether it was intentional or not hubby was getting short tempered…. So willow went for a walk…..
Then as if the fates decided to give her a break willow found that things were getting better…. She hoped it was intentional and that the fates were on her side at last.🤔🤐
