Reserve Books

Course Reserves

The Speaker Jim Wright Library purchases or acquires textbooks, and other materials, for classes, based on instructor requests and student needs. Physical materials are kept behind the circulation desk, while electronic items are available online within the Course Reserves Module. The items on reserve are typically required or recommended reading for the courses offered at Weatherford College.

The library can put physical items on reserve at the service desk. These would be available for a two-hour checkout for use within the library.

Electronic items can also be placed on reserve. These will be added to the Course Reserves Module. Students can be directed to the module in the catalog, click on their course, and the items on reserve will be made available within the module. Both eBooks and electronic articles that are available through the library catalog can be placed on reserve.

  • Note: Some eBooks are limited in access to 1-3 users at a time. However, once one user has logged out, or closed their browser, the item they were using becomes available.

Placing an Item on Reserve

Please contact us at library@wc.edu to request an item for Reserves. It may take up to two weeks to receive and process physical items—longer if the items are harder to find and purchase. Electronic items can usually be received within a couple days.

For items that the instructor owns and is providing to the library for Reserves, please stop by the library with the item(s). We will ask you to fill out a form and we will take care of the rest. We welcome any textbooks that instructors are able to provide each semester!
