VAS ODIS (Offboard Diagnostic Information System) by AVL DiTEST GmbH is an OEM-grade diagnostic platform designed for servicing and repairing vehicles across the Volkswagen Group. It provides guided fault finding, control unit communication, and comprehensive service functions in a single Windows-based application.
With VAS ODIS, technicians can read and clear diagnostic trouble codes, perform output tests, view live measured values, carry out basic settings and adaptations, and execute manufacturer-approved service routines. The software also supports coding and ECU programming/flash updates when used with authorized online access. Integration with official VAS diagnostic interfaces (such as VAS 6154/6154A) enables reliable communication over CAN, UDS, and Diagnostics over IP (DoIP) for modern vehicle platforms.
Designed for dealership environments and authorized repair facilities—and available to independent workshops with the appropriate licenses—VAS ODIS aligns diagnostic workflows with factory procedures, helping ensure accurate, traceable, and compliant repairs. Online functions and certain content require valid credentials and subscriptions provided by the vehicle manufacturer or its service portals.
