At UDVC, we offer a range of programs and services designed to strengthen Utah’s response to DV. Our work supports survivors, advocates, services providers, and communities through direct assistance, training, technical support, and connections to essential resources. With each program we are committed to offering trauma informed, inclusive and collaborative approaches that promote safety, empowerment, and hope.

UDVC’s Education & Training Program offers in-depth learning opportunities to equip service providers, advocates, and community members with the knowledge and skills to respond effectively to domestic violence. The program emphasizes trauma-informed practices and promotes approaches that center safety, dignity, and empowerment for those impacted by violence.

We provide a variety of training options throughout the year, including:

  • 40-hour Core Advocacy Training
  • Advanced training on specialized topics
  • Annual conference and symposiums
  • Self-paced courses through our e-learning platform

The Technical Assistance Program offers specialized guidance to domestic violence programs statewide. From licensing and compliance to trauma-informed care, crisis management, and data collection, this program strengthens the effectiveness, sustainability, and accountability of partner organizations. See our TA page.

Safe, stable housing and freedom from financial abuse are key steps for many survivors on their paths to safety and healing. UDVC’s Housing & Economic Empowerment Program helps service providers support survivors — from finding emergency housing to rebuilding credit and preparing for permanent housing.

We offer training, technical help, and resources on housing and economic issues related to domestic violence. Our team:

  • Builds partnerships with housing and homeless organizations across Utah.
  • Supports shelters with data collection and housing programs.
  • Connects advocates with tools, best practices, and legal rights information.
  • Works on policies to improve housing access for those impacted by violence.

UDVC’s LINKLine Program provides essential, immediate support to individuals impacted by domestic violence, as well as service providers, concerned community members, and family members across Utah. The LINKLine offers confidential crisis assistance, safety planning, information, emotional support, and direct connections to local domestic violence programs, shelters, and community resources.

Available statewide, the program helps bridge individuals and families to the services they need — whether they are seeking immediate safety, ongoing support, or simply have questions about their options.

The Utah Intimate Partner Violence Lethality Assessment (UIPVLA) strengthens statewide efforts to identify and respond to high-risk domestic violence cases. The program fosters collaboration between law enforcement and local domestic violence service providers to assess danger levels and take appropriate, trauma-informed action when severe risk is identified. Since 2015, UDVC has supported these efforts by offering ongoing training, technical assistance, and resources to agencies across Utah.

The Rural Outreach and Tribal Advocate Support Program delivers culturally-sensitive training and support to resource-limited rural communities, addressing unique challenges faced by geographically isolated areas. This program empowers advocates, service providers, and community members through training, technical assistance, and outreach initiatives tailored to the diverse needs of rural populations throughout Utah.
