What is Port monitoring? #

A port is a point in a network where the connection both starts and ends. They are not physically hardwired and are managed by the OS. They allow you to filter connections and easily recognize various sorts of traffic.

Port monitoring enables you to ensure that your website’s port is working as intended and that there is no loss of data or connection issues. It operates by sending a periodic trigger, which sends requests to a given port which can discover major flaws in the lifecycle of your software.
