Adding a new Connection

1 min read

Connections are created in order to monitor the status of various elements of your online presence. A new connection should be created for each element that requires monitoring by selecting the appropriate type (e.g. URL, Port, or keyword)

You can create a new connection by navigating to Connections tab and Pressing the Add new button. If you have no existing connections, you can also add a connection by pressing the Show me how button on the Status page

In this example we will add a new Connection for monitoring the availability status of website

Please select URL check as the Type of connection

Enter a name for this connection, in this example we call this “Availability of My Important Website”

Provide the Link to the website in the link field, and if authentication is required for the link please enter the credentials in the Username and Password Fields

Once complete, please press the Save Connection button

Your new connection will now be listed on the Connections Tab

A Status monitoring block for your connection will now also be visible on the Status Page

Your specified connection type is now being monitored by Tethered, and any alerts will be sent via the default notifier thats automatically created on sign-up (A notifier is automatically created for the email address used on signup). Please see the following guide for adding a new notifier
