Reactivating an inactive/deleted child

Welcome to your single tutorial template! This is your intro box to summarise what you’re going to talk about.

Above is what looks like an empty container, but is in fact, a read time widget. When you view or publish your tutorial, this little doo-dad will calculate roughly how long your tutorial will take to read. Please leave it where it is!

Inactive children can be restored fully within 90 days of deactivation. For more information on deactivating, see the “Deactivating Children” guide.

The level of deactivation chosen will determine when and what data is restored.

Partially deleted children can be fully restored within 90 days. After 90 days, only data required for financial, attendance and accident reporting is restored.

Fully deleted children can be fully restored within 90 days. After 90 days they are deleted and held in our back ups for a further 90 days. After this 180 days, they are permanently deleted.

Deactivated children (keep all child data) can be fully restored at anytime, provided your whole Tapestry account is still active.

Reactivating an individual child

In order to reactivate inactive children, you’ll first need to navigate to the Manage Children page.

Click “Configuration”, then select “Children”, then “Manage Children”.

From here, you can filter the whole list of children using the tabs at the top. Choose the “inactive” tab.

Find the child you want to restore on this list and click the cog menu next to their name. Then, select “Make [child’s name] Active”.

Depending on the current inactive status of the child you are restoring, you may receive an additional message. For example, if you are restoring a “Partially deleted” child, after the initial 90 days, you will get this message. As mentioned at the start of this guide, this is because only data required for financial, attendance and accident reporting is restored in this case.

In instances where all data is going to be restored, the child will simply move back into your “Active” list after you click the “Make Active” button.

Restoring inactive/deleted children in bulk

You can restore multiple inactive children at the same time by selecting them using the tick boxes and choosing “Make active” from the bottom-right menu.

Lastly, you’ll be taken to a new screen where you can individually confirm what action to take for each child.

When you are happy with your choices, click “Make Children Active”. You will be taken back to your Manage Children page and the children’s statuses will have been updated.

That’s how you reactivate inactive or deleted children on Tapestry.
