Troubleshooting: Where's the Full-Text?

Where's the Full-Text?

Not every article you find will have full-text readily available. Sometimes you will find a link that says "Find full text at Samford." An example of this link is below.

Drop down "Access options Find full text at Samford"

When you click the "Find full text at Samford" link, you will get a list of options you can use to connect with the full-text of a particular article. Depending on the article, you will have different full-text options.

Option 1: Links to take you straight to the article.

Example of links to articles. "FULL TEXT from Sage" and "FULL TEXT from the publisher's site"

Option 2: Links that will take you straight to the journal that has the article.

(keep in mind that you might need to search within the journal, or browse for the specific year & issue number that the article is located in).

Example of links to online journals: Link with "FULL TEXT of journal name"

Option 3: Search Google Scholar for full-text on the open web

(you can also check the library catalog for a print copy)

Example including the links to Google Scholar and the Library Catalog

Option 4: Request the Article

If you've tried all the full-text searching options but can't find the full-text for the article you need, you can request it through interlibrary loan.
