Rebels Varsity Athletics is Back
Following feedback from more than 1,000 students, the Students’ Association committed to bringing back varsity athletics. On January 6, 2026, the RRCSA was approved to rejoin the Manitoba Collegiate Athletic Conference (MCAC) for the 2026–2027 season.
What This Means
- Managed, operated, and funded by the Students’ Association
- Student-focused and accessible
- Free for students to attend home games
Initial Sports
- Men’s & Women’s Basketball
- Men’s & Women’s Volleyball
- Cross Country Running
Student-Led Model
These sports were selected based on student interest, MCAC participation, and the ability to offer meaningful competitive opportunities. Additional sports may be considered in future years.
The RRCSA will oversee varsity athletics in collaboration with RRC Polytech. This student-led approach allows students to have a direct role in shaping athletics on campus while operating within the MCAC framework.
