Visa Information

Overview:

This fact sheet provides a general overview of the most common visa options for participants travelling to the United Kingdom to attend Resourcing Tomorrow.

The visa options outlined are current as of 28 May 2026. Please note that UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) may update regulations at any time, and visa application fees are also subject to change.

VISA OPTIONS FOR RESOURCING TOMORROW:

There are many visa options available to people wishing to visit the United Kingdom. The appropriate visa option will depend, amongst other things, on the person's purpose for visiting.

The visa options provided below are based on the activities of Resourcing Tomorrow participants.

Standard Visitor Visa – Business Activities

  • Purpose: Attending conferences, meetings, and seminars.
  • Eligibility: Attendees, speakers, exhibitors not receiving payment.
  • Stay Duration: Up to 6 months
  • Application Fee: £127.
  • Requirements:
    Letter of invitation from the event organiser.
    Evidence of previous international travel and attendance at similar events.
    Supporting documents as outlined in the guide to supporting documents. 

Permitted Paid Engagement (PPE) Visa

  • Purpose: Short-term paid engagements, such as speaking at a conference.
  • Eligibility: Experts invited by a UK-based organization.
  • Stay Duration: Up to 1 month.
  • Application Fee: £127.
  • Requirements:
    Invitation from a UK-based organization.
    Proof of professional standing in the field. PPE Visa

Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)

  • Purpose: For visa-exempt nationals visiting for tourism, business, or short-term study.
  • Eligibility: Citizens of countries with visa-free travel agreements with the UK (e.g., USA, Australia, Canada).
  • Stay Duration: Up to 6 months.
  • Application Fee: £16.
  • Validity: 2 years or until passport expiry, whichever is sooner.
  • Application Method: Apply via the official UK ETA app or the gov.uk website. 

VIP Delegate Visa

  • Purpose: For official government delegates attending events.
  • Eligibility: Individuals named in a Note Verbale from their government.
  • Stay Duration: Entry permitted 3 days before and after the event; total stay not exceeding one month.
  • Application Fee: Free of charge.
  • Requirements:
    Valid passport.
    Facial photograph.
    Submission at a Visa Application Centre (VAC). More information:  VIP Delegate Visa

Additional Notes:

  • Visa applications should be submitted well in advance of the intended travel date.
  • Processing times can vary; refer to the visa processing times guide.
  • Applicants should check if they need a visa using the UK visa checker.
