Criteria:

This award recognises and celebrates the achievements of a women in mining driving forward and demonstrating true leadership, championing innovation, and creating lasting impact across the mining sector whether in exploration, operations, ESG, finance, HR, legal, technology, communications or community and stakeholder engagement.

Nomination Process:

This award is an opportunity to reward a colleague so please let us know in no more than 500 words whom you are nominating and why you believe they are an exceptional woman in mining. Please include their full name, job title, and company in the nomination and highlight any projects you feel they should be recognised for.

Exploration Discovery of the Year Award

Criteria:

This award recognises an exploration discovery that has demonstrated clear potential to develop into a significant mining operation.

The discovery does not need to have been made within the past 12 months; however, the period under consideration should reflect when the industry widely recognised the discovery’s scale, quality, and potential economic significance.

Operational Transformation of the Year Award

Criteria:

This award recognises a company or organisation that has delivered significant and measurable improvement in operational performance within the mining and resources sector.

Entries may include the implementation of advanced technologies such as automation, robotics, artificial intelligence, data analytics, digital twins, or IoT. However, initiatives focused on process redesign, organisational transformation, safety improvement, operational excellence, or strategic restructuring will also be considered where they have driven demonstrable operational impact.

Best Sustainability Initiative by a Mining Company of the Year Award

Criteria:

This award recognises a mining company that has implemented an outstanding sustainability initiative demonstrating measurable and meaningful impact.

The initiative should show clear evidence of positive outcomes, innovation, and long-term value creation for stakeholders, communities, and the environment.

Best Industry Sustainability Initiative of the Year Award

Criteria:

Open to consultancies, NGOs, investors, governments, and other organisations that are not mining companies.

This award recognises an organisation that has developed and implemented an outstanding sustainability initiative that has delivered measurable and meaningful impact within the mining and resources sector.

The initiative should demonstrate clear evidence of positive environmental and/or social outcomes, innovation, and long-term value creation for industry and stakeholders.

Mining Deal of the Year Award

Criteria:

Open to transactions and strategic partnerships completed between 1 October 2025 and 30 September 2026.

It could be for a takeover, merger, project financing, joint venture, offtake deal, or listing that has most captured the imagination of the financial community. Non financial collaborations and partnerships will also be considered for this category.

Mining Leader of the Year Award

Criteria:

The award recognises exceptional leadership and standout value creation during the qualifying period between 1 October 2025 and 30 September 2026.

Judges will assess the extent of a company’s enterprise value growth over the qualifying period, while also taking into account a range of internal and external factors that may have influenced performance. These may include commodity price movements, significant sector or market developments, currency fluctuations, macroeconomic or geopolitical conditions, exploration success, corporate strategy, and M&A activity.

The panel will also consider the relative strength and effectiveness of the senior management team, as well as the baseline from which the company’s value has grown.

Nominations are invited from peers and stakeholders, and self-nominations are welcome.

Rising Star/s of the Year Award

Criteria:

Open to an emerging professional working within any organisation across the mining and resources value chain.

This award recognises an up-and-coming individual who has demonstrated exceptional promise, impact, and professional achievement during the past 12 months. The nominee should show clear evidence of leadership potential, innovation, and meaningful contribution to their organisation or the wider sector.
