Crohn's disease (CD) presents a challenge for patients focused on finding a beneficial modified diet regimen they can adhere to. This disease also poses a test for practitioners who aim to identify optimal nutritional therapies for patients. CD can alter the body's ability to digest food and absorb nutrients, causing vitamin deficiencies, malnutrition, and other complications that can be life-threatening. Nutritional deficiencies are well documented among patients with CD and symptomatic perianal involvement; they are closely related to poor therapy response, clinical outcomes, and postoperative complications. Thus, most guidelines recommend regular assessment and correction of nutritional deficiencies for these patients.

Are you prepared to advise and manage nutrition and diet for patients with CD? Test your knowledge with this quick quiz.
