The sad reality settles upon her like a cold thin blanket, hugging her tightly. Her mother made her believe she was about to enter the doors of green pastures. She entered it and witnessed the grass and flowers wilt before her eager eyes. Money was her enemy. She’s now weary from the pain. The world seems to vanish into oblivion. All she ever wanted was to finish college but now her dream flutters away.

Bidding goodbye to her old prison, she performs a breakout. She leaves to the city and seeks a job. In her simple strolls around the city, she meets a girl and sees a friend in her. The girl bridges her to her brother, an honest and funny fellow.

She suddenly realizes she falls in love with him, gravity suddenly pulling down stronger than usual. Little did she know that this man had fallen to her charms as well. Without a moment’s notice, her heart soon soars the skies when she catches the man offering his love, pure and noble.

In a lovely dinner in a simple house, she tells her story of defeat and the unexpected twist, her destiny, to her son. No genius could conclude the odds of her finding her own green pastures from seeing a former one wither.
This is my submission for The Daily Post’s Discover Challenge, Snapshots. The challenge requires me to tell a broad story using small strokes. If you haven’t figured it out, this is the story of my mother, or rather snapshots of her life. I failed with the 200 words though.
