Protector Suite

Protector Suite is a biometric security and password management application developed by UPEK Inc. Designed for PCs equipped with UPEK fingerprint sensors, it enables users to enroll fingerprints and use them to sign in to Windows, unlock the desktop, and authenticate to applications and websites. By replacing or supplementing traditional passwords with fingerprint verification, Protector Suite streamlines logins while helping safeguard access to the device and user credentials. It was widely bundled with notebooks that included UPEK fingerprint readers and later evolved into AuthenTec’s TrueSuite following UPEK’s acquisition.

Key capabilities include:

• Fingerprint enrollment and management for multiple users and fingers
• Windows logon and screen unlock via fingerprint
• Single sign-on to applications and websites through an integrated password manager
• A secure credential store and configurable fallback to Windows passwords
• Optional secure file storage or encryption features, depending on edition

• Features and interface may vary by version and OEM bundle.
• Protector Suite was primarily offered for Windows platforms common at the time of release (for example, Windows XP, Vista, and 7).

Protector Suite is developed by UPEK Inc. and is used by 19 users of Software Informer. The names of program executable files are ctlcntrv.exe, ctlcntr.exe. This particular product is not fit to be reviewed by our informers.
