Paso Robles CERT prepares residents for earthquakes, wildfires, and seasonal flooding, providing the knowledge and skills needed to protect themselves, their families, and their community. Trained CERT volunteers support local fire and emergency services while helping neighborhoods stay resilient and ready.

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers on disaster preparedness and trains them in essential response skills, including fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. This nationwide program provides consistent training that professional responders can rely on during emergencies, allowing them to focus on more complex tasks.
Sponsored by Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services, Paso Robles CERT partners with the department to support public safety education. Each year, the program offers:
→ Two Basic Disaster Preparedness Courses for Families
→ A TEEN CERT Program
→ Ongoing Training for Volunteers
Specialized training opportunities also cover topics such as traffic and crowd management, emergency radio communications, flood response, and electrical hazards for first responders.
Volunteers play an active role in Paso Robles by:
→ Assisting during flood incidents.
→ Supporting traffic and crowd management at local events.
→ Helping with weed abatement inspections.
Training and Volunteer Opportunities are available throughout San Luis Obispo County.
In 2026, we'll look forward to expanding our programs to include more communities.
