NetDCU USB Loader by F&S Elektronik Systeme GmbH is a Windows-based utility for provisioning, updating, and recovering F&S NetDCU and compatible embedded modules over a direct USB connection. It streamlines device bring-up and maintenance by transferring operating system images and bootloaders to on-board flash when the target is in bootloader/download mode.

Key capabilities:

  • USB download of vendor-provided OS and bootloader images to the device’s flash memory
  • Verification and progress feedback to ensure reliable updates
  • Basic flash management tasks such as erase and program operations (as supported)
  • Device detection and logging to aid development, service, and production workflows

Typical use cases include initial deployment, operating system upgrades, field servicing, and recovery of devices that cannot boot normally.

Requirements:

  • An F&S NetDCU module configured for USB download mode
  • The appropriate USB driver and image files from F&S or your build environment
  • A Windows PC with sufficient permissions to install drivers and access USB devices

Basic workflow:

  1. Install the driver and launch the loader.
  2. Put the NetDCU into USB download mode and connect it via USB.
  3. Select the correct image files and target areas.
  4. Start the transfer, wait for verification, and reboot the device.

Notes:

  • Flashing new images can erase existing data; back up before proceeding.
  • Always use images that match your exact module and BSP version.
  • For some newer F&S platforms, different tools may be recommended; consult F&S documentation.

NetDCU USB Loader is developed by F&S Elektronik Systeme GmbH. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 1.6 and 1.9. The name of the program executable file is NetDCUUSBLoader.exe.
