I saw on Jeff Tiedrich’s blog where he shared a meme of Obama made fun of himself by muttering “Thanks, Obama” when he couldn’t dunk a large cookie into a glass of milk. A president who has a sense of humor and is not a fascist…wow! (I miss him so much)

What a way to celebrate the life of someone who lost his life ministering to others—and to celebrate the legacy of grace. I miss former president Obama now more than ever.

Thank you for sharing, Kerfe. It brought tears to my eyes. Do you remember Joan Baez singing “My president sang Amazing Grace”? In times of crisis, almost every other president has stepped up to lead and comfort the nation, but not the current one, the vile wretched thing in the White House.

Thank you so much for this. The chills that voice gave me, and that authentic call for unity in the face of violence, are what it feels like to imagine real grace in this country. It’s so hard to forget right now. They are trying to make us forget.

I miss having a class act in the white house. We’ve had many, democrats and republicans–we need that.

Thanks for this, Kerfe. I don’t think I ever saw it. Although I do remember President Obama breaking into song at least one other time, on stage at some event. I wish I could remember what, because it might be out there on YouTube too. He actually did a great job that time — and this time, not bad at all especially considering no music. It’s hard not to get flat without music.

Sorry to get off topic but, I’m working on a (very general) post about oracle cards. I thought I’m mention the variation you use for poetry. You’ve mentioned “the oracle” — Can you tell me what it is? Is it an actual thing one can buy, or something you’ve come up with on your own?

    Hugs.

I’ll have to look for that video too.

The Oracle is Magnetic Poetry. You can play it online here.

and they also have sets you can buy. I don’t know why we started calling it the Oracle, but it does seem to be attuned to what is going on in the world and our lives. The person who I think started it is no longer blogging, but a few people still continue to consult it, usually on Saturdays. I used to sometimes to collaborations with Nina when she was blogging regularly.

I also consider the box of words and phrases I cut out and use to make poems the Collage Box Oracle. It’s part chance and part you–which is I guess what card oracles are as well.

      Hope that helps!
