  • Happy Birthday! A Reflection on Faith and Grace

Another turn in the game of life! On my birthday, I’m pausing to seek guidance for the year ahead, inspired by the deep spiritual wisdom of my Catholic faith.

My guiding light today is the powerful reflection from St. Teresa of Ávila:

“Christ has no body now but yours, no hands, no feet on earth but yours…”

This reminds me that true devotion means being God’s presence in the world.

I feel incredibly grateful to celebrate on the feast day of my patron saint, St. Teresa of Ávila!
As a Catholic, my faith is everything, and today I lift my heart in gratitude and prayer, seeking the intercession of two powerful women: the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Teresa.

Reflecting on the spiritual lessons they offer:

    From Blessed Mary:
I pray to emulate her "fiat" - "Let it be done unto me according to Thy word" embracing God's plan with humility and a trusting heart. She shows us how to nurture Christ within us and bring Him forth into the world.

    From St. Teresa of Ávila:
I am inspired to seek deeper intimacy with God in the "Interior Castle" of my soul and remember her profound truth: "God alone suffices." I pray for the courage to live my faith boldly.

    My Prayer of Intercession

Dearest Blessed Virgin Mary, I turn to you. Wrap me in your mantle of protection and love. Intercede for me that I may grow closer to your Son, Jesus, in all things.

Beloved Saint Teresa of Ávila, my patron and guide, teach me your wisdom concerning prayer, strengthen my resolve in trials, and instill in me your ardent love for Christ.

Through my combined prayers, Let my life be a testament to love and service. I ask for continued blessings of health, joy, and peace in the coming year, and the grace to grow in virtue and faithfully follow God's will.

    Amen.
