  • Trusting God for Justice

    Scripture

    1 Samuel 26:9 (NKJV)
But David said to Abishai Do not destroy him for who can stretch out his hand against the Lord's anointed and be guiltless

    Leaving Vengeance in God’s Hands

1 Samuel chapter 26 presents another opportunity for David to take Saul’s life. Saul continued to pursue David, and once again David found himself close enough to end the conflict.

While Saul and his army slept in the camp, David and Abishai entered unnoticed. Saul was lying there with his spear stuck in the ground beside him. Abishai immediately saw this as a God-given opportunity and offered to strike Saul down with one blow.

From a human perspective, this seemed like the perfect solution. Saul was vulnerable, the threat could be eliminated, and David could step into what God had already promised him.

    Yet David refused.

David understood that taking Saul’s life was not his responsibility. Even though Saul was acting unjustly, David trusted that God would deal with him in His own way and in His own time. David chose restraint, honoring God rather than acting on opportunity.

Instead of harming Saul, David took Saul’s spear and water jug as evidence and left the camp. Later, he called out to Saul from a safe distance, showing once again that he had spared his life.

David’s actions reveal a heart that trusts God completely. He did not allow repeated opportunities for revenge to change his convictions. He remained consistent, choosing righteousness over personal gain.

This chapter teaches that trusting God includes trusting Him for justice. When we are wronged, it can be tempting to take matters into our own hands. However, God calls us to leave vengeance to Him.

For believers today, 1 Samuel 26 reminds us that integrity is proven in moments of opportunity. It is easy to justify wrong actions when circumstances seem to favor us. But true faith chooses obedience even when we have the chance to act otherwise.

    Reflection Questions

    1. Am I tempted to take matters into my own hands when I am treated unfairly

    2. Do I trust God to handle situations of injustice in His timing

    3. How can I choose integrity when faced with opportunities to do wrong

    Prayer

Lord God thank You that You are a just and righteous Judge. Help me to trust You when I am wronged and not to take vengeance into my own hands. Give me the strength to choose integrity and to honor You in every situation. Teach me to rely on Your timing and Your justice. In Jesus name Amen.

  • Wisdom That Prevents Destruction

    Scripture

    1 Samuel 25:32–33 (NKJV)
Then David said to Abigail Blessed is the Lord God of Israel who sent you this day to meet me

And blessed is your advice and blessed are you because you have kept me this day from coming to bloodshed and from avenging myself with my own hand

    The Power of Wise Intervention

1 Samuel chapter 25 introduces three key individuals David, Nabal, and Abigail. Nabal was a wealthy man but harsh and foolish in his behavior. Abigail, his wife, was wise and discerning.

While David and his men were in the wilderness, they protected Nabal’s shepherds and flocks. When the time came for shearing, David sent men to request provision from Nabal in return for their protection. However, Nabal responded with insult and rejection, showing no gratitude or respect.

David became angry and prepared to take revenge. He gathered his men and set out to destroy Nabal and his household. In this moment, David was on the verge of acting in the flesh, allowing anger to lead him into sin.

Abigail heard what had happened and acted quickly. She gathered food and supplies and went out to meet David. When she arrived, she approached with humility, wisdom, and discernment. She acknowledged the wrong, appealed to David’s future calling, and urged him not to take vengeance into his own hands.

Her words stopped David from making a destructive decision.

David recognized that God had used Abigail to intervene. Instead of carrying out revenge, he chose restraint. Shortly after, the Lord Himself dealt with Nabal, and David was kept from unnecessary bloodshed.

This chapter teaches the importance of wisdom, humility, and self-control. It shows how quickly anger can lead us toward wrong actions, even when we have been treated unfairly. It also highlights how God can use others to redirect us when we are heading in the wrong direction.

For believers today, 1 Samuel 25 reminds us to pause before reacting in anger. God calls us to trust Him for justice rather than taking matters into our own hands. It also challenges us to be like Abigail, bringing peace, wisdom, and godly counsel into difficult situations.

    Reflection Questions

    1. How do I respond when I am treated unfairly or disrespected

    2. Am I quick to act in anger or willing to pause and seek wisdom

    3. How can I be a voice of peace and wisdom in challenging situations

    Prayer

Lord God thank You for Your wisdom and guidance. Help me to control my anger and to respond with patience and discernment. Teach me not to take revenge but to trust You for justice. Use me as a vessel of peace and wisdom in the lives of others. In Jesus name Amen.

FEATURED ON LORDSBOOK: THE CASE FOR CHRISTIANITY

Today we are highlighting J. Warner Wallace, a former atheist and cold-case homicide detective who now examines the claims of Christianity using evidence, logic, and investigative reasoning.

Many of you are familiar with his bestselling work Cold-Case Christianity, and now he is equipping believers even further with his evangelism booklet:

    CASE CLOSED

This resource is designed specifically for those who are skeptical of Christianity and questioning the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

    THE REALITY IS THIS:

Nothing is more foundational to our faith than the resurrection.

But in a world that demands evidence—not emotion—how do we respond?

    J. Warner Wallace approaches the resurrection like a detective working a real case—objectively, logically, and based on evidence.

    HE TACKLES CRITICAL QUESTIONS LIKE:

    • Could the disciples have been wrong about Jesus’s death?
    • Did the disciples fabricate the resurrection story?
    • Were Jesus’s followers deceived or delusional?

Step by step, he lays out a fact-based case showing that the evidence for the resurrection is not only reasonable—it is compelling.

    THIS IS NOT JUST INFORMATION

This is a tool for evangelism.
This is a resource for strengthening your faith.
This is a way to reach a generation hungry for truth and hope.

  • Heavenly Father,

In the name of Jesus, we lift up our brother E.N. to You.

Lord, You see everything he is walking through—every struggle, every hidden battle, every moment of weakness and discouragement. Nothing is hidden from You. Father, we ask that You would move powerfully in his life, bringing freedom in ways he doesn’t even know he needs, both in what he is aware of and what he is not.

Lord, we specifically bring before You his struggle with lust. You know how weary he feels, how discouraged he has become. But Father, Your Word says that where sin abounds, grace abounds much more. So we ask for an outpouring of Your grace, strength, and self-control over his life.

Break every chain that is trying to hold him back. Renew his mind, purify his heart, and redirect his desires toward righteousness. Give him the strength to stand in moments of temptation and a way of escape when those moments come.

Lord, replace his discouragement with hope, his weakness with Your power, and his struggle with victory in Christ. Remind him that he is not alone, that he is deeply loved, and that You are working in him even now.

Surround him with Your presence. Fill him with the Holy Spirit. Give him a hunger for Your Word and a deeper desire for You above all else.

Father, bless him in ways he is not even capable of imagining. Set him free, establish him, and strengthen him to walk as the man of God You have called him to be.

We declare that freedom is possible, victory is coming, and Your grace is sufficient.

In Jesus’ mighty name we pray,
    Amen.

Lord, we invite the Holy Spirit to be present in every moment—from the first step on the land to the final brick laid. Let Your presence lead, guide, and cover this entire work.

Father, we lift up every construction worker and volunteer. Give them strength, protection, unity, and excellence in all they do. Keep them safe from harm and let their hands be steady and their work blessed.

Lord, we thank You for every person who has sown financially into this vision. Bless them abundantly for their generosity and faithfulness. Multiply what they have given and return it to them in ways that only You can.

We lift up the children who will learn in these classrooms. Thank You that they will no longer sit on dirt floors or be exposed to unsafe conditions. This will be a place of growth, safety, and transformation. Let it be a place where they not only receive education, but come to know Jesus deeply.

Father, we pray for provision in every area—for travel, accommodations, food, materials, and every necessity needed to complete this project. You are our provider, and we trust You for all things.

But above all, Lord, we pray that this school would glorify the name Jesus. Let it be a place where disciples are made—a place where the children will know you, will grow, will love You, and go out to make disciples of others.

Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness. This is Your work, and we give You all the glory.

    In Jesus’ name,
    Amen.
Heavenly Father, In the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we come before You with grateful hearts as Freedom Chapel Iringa begins the school construction. Lord, we invite the Holy Spirit to be present in every moment—from the first step on the land to the final brick laid. Let Your presence lead, guide, and cover this entire work. Father, we lift up every construction worker and volunteer. Give them strength, protection, unity, and excellence in all they do. • FIX YOUR EYES ON JESUS- THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF OUR FAITH

As we come out of Holy Week, we don’t just leave it behind—we carry it with us.
We have walked through the full story:

-From the triumphal entry, where Jesus was welcomed as King…
-To the teachings that challenged hearts and revealed truth…
-To the humility and love shown on Thursday…
-To the cross on Good Friday, where He gave His life…
    -To the silence of Saturday…

And now—the victory of the resurrection.

    JESUS IS ALIVE

Holy Week reminds us of who Jesus truly is.

-He is not just a teacher.
-He is not just a prophet.

He is the Savior who came, the Lamb who
was slain, and the King who rose again.

    -He began the work.
    -He finished the work.

And now He calls us to follow Him.

    FIX YOUR EYES ON JESUS

Scripture tells us to fix our eyes on Jesus—the author and finisher of our faith.

In a world full of distractions, confusion, and pressure, there is only one place to look.

    -Not to circumstances.
    -Not to people.
    -Not to fear.

    But to Jesus.

-He is the One who started your faith.
-He is the One who sustains your faith.
-And He is the One who will bring it to completion.

The resurrection is not just something we celebrate once a year—it is how we live every day.

    Because He lives:

    -We move forward in faith
    -We walk in victory
    -We live with purpose

No matter what you face, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in you.

Now is the time to go deeper.
To stop watching from a distance and start walking closely with Him.

-To fix your eyes fully on Jesus.
    -To trust Him.
    -To follow Him.

Let your life reflect the reality of the resurrection.

The story is not over—it has just begun.

    -Jesus is alive.
    -He is working.
    -He is leading.

So fix your eyes on Him—and don’t look away.

    THREE TAKEAWAYS

    1. Jesus is the author and finisher of your faith
    2. The resurrection gives you victory and purpose
    3. Fix your eyes on Him daily and follow Him fully

Keep your eyes on Jesus. Walk in His victory. Grow daily on Lordsbook.

  • HAPPY RESURRECTION SUNDAY

Resurrection Sunday – The Victory of Jesus Christ

    Today changes everything.

After a week of powerful moments—Jesus entering Jerusalem as King, teaching truth in the temple, calling people to repentance, showing humility and love, and ultimately going to the cross on Good Friday—we arrive at the greatest moment in history.

    The tomb is empty.

    Jesus Christ has risen.

Early in the morning, as the women came to the tomb, they expected to find Jesus’ body. Instead, they found the stone rolled away.

The grave could not hold Him.
    Death could not defeat Him.

Jesus rose just as He said He would.

What looked like defeat on Friday was actually victory—and now that victory is revealed.

THE RESURRECTION IS NOT JUST AN EVENT

it is the foundation of our faith.

    Because Jesus rose:

    Sin has been defeated

    Death has been conquered

    Hope is alive

The resurrection proves that Jesus is who He said He is—the Son of God, the Savior of the world.

It confirms that the work of the cross is complete and accepted.

This is not just something we celebrate—it is something we live in.

    Because He lives:

    We are forgiven

    We are made new

    We have eternal life

The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is now available to us—to transform us, strengthen us, and lead us into a new life.

The question is not whether Jesus rose—the question is:

    Have you responded to Him?

    Living in the Resurrection

RESURRECTION SUNDAY CALLS TO LIVE A NEW LIFE

    -To leave behind sin.
    -To walk in freedom.
    -To follow Jesus fully.

This is not the end of the story—this is the beginning of a new life in Christ.

The cross was not the end.
The tomb was not the end.

    JESUS IS ALIVE

And because He lives, everything changes.

    WE LEARNED THREE THINGS:

    1. Jesus conquered sin and death once and for all

    2. The resurrection proves His power and identity

    3. New life is available to all who believe

He is risen. Walk in new life. Follow Jesus daily.

  • Holy Saturday – The Silence Before the Victory

AND TODAY IS A QUIET DAY!

After the intensity of Holy Week—after the teachings, the confrontations, the miracles, the Last Supper, and the cross—we arrive at a moment that feels still… almost silent.

    Jesus has been crucified.
His body has been laid in the tomb.

    The crowds have gone home.

The disciples are scattered, confused, and grieving.

From a human perspective, it looks like Everything is over

But heaven knows something they haven't seen yet

THIS WEEK, WE HAVE WALKED WITH JESUS

From Palm Sunday, where He was welcomed as King

To Monday and Tuesday, where He taught truth and exposed hearts

To Wednesday, calling us to be ready

To Thursday, where He showed us love, humility, and intimacy

To Good Friday, where He gave His life on the cross

AND NOW... WE SIT IN TENSION!

The promise has been spoken—but the fulfillment has not yet been seen.

    THE MEANING OF THIS MOMENT:

Holy Saturday teaches us something powerful about our own lives.

    There are moments when:

    -God has spoken

    -God has promised

    -God has moved

But we don’t yet see the outcome.

    -It feels quiet.
    -It feels uncertain.
    -It feels like waiting.

But just because God is silent does not mean He is absent.

Just because we cannot see it does not mean He is not working.

Behind the stone, something is happening.

    TAKE A MOMENT AND REFLECT:

-Where in your life are you in the “in-between”?

-Where has God made a promise that you haven’t yet seen fulfilled?

-Where does it feel quiet… but you know God is still working?

HOLY SATURDAY INVITES US TO TRUST GOD IN THE SILENCE!

-To believe even when we don’t see.

-To hold onto His promises when everything feels uncertain.

BECAUSE WHAT LOOKS LIKE THE END... IS NOT THE END!

-The cross was not the final word.

-The tomb will not stay closed.

    -Sunday is coming

    -Victory is coming.

    -Resurrection is coming.

    -Life is coming.

DO NOT LOSE HEART IN THE WAITING!

    -God is still moving.

    -God is still working.

    -God is still faithful.

The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is about to be revealed—and it changes everything

    WE LEARN THREE THINGS:

    1. God is working even in the silence

    2. Waiting seasons are part of God’s plan

    3. What looks like the end is often the beginning

Stay faithful in the waiting. Trust His promises. Prepare your heart—Resurrection is coming. Walk daily with Jesus on Lordsbook.

  • Good Friday – The Cross That Changed Everything

Today we remember Good Friday—the day Jesus Christ was crucified. At first glance, it seems like a day of suffering, injustice, and death. But in reality, it is the greatest display of God’s love, mercy, and redemption the world has ever seen.

GOOD FRIDAY takes place during the Jewish Passover, a time when Israel remembered how God delivered them from slavery in Egypt through the blood of the lamb placed on their doorposts.

    This is not a coincidence.

Jesus entered Jerusalem earlier that week as the Passover Lamb. Throughout the week, He taught in the temple, confronted religious hypocrisy, and prepared His disciples. By Thursday night, He was betrayed by Judas, arrested, and taken before religious leaders and Roman authorities.

Though innocent, Jesus was falsely accused, mocked, beaten, and sentenced to death by crucifixion—a punishment reserved for the worst criminals.

Yet this was all part of God’s plan.

    THE MEANING OF THE CROSS

Jesus did not go to the cross as a victim—He went willingly.

On the cross, Jesus took upon Himself the sin of the world. Every sin—past, present, and future—was placed upon Him. The punishment that we deserved was poured out on Him.

    He became our substitute.

Where there should have been judgment for us, there was mercy through Him.

THE CROSS SHOWS US TWO POWERFUL TRUTHS:

    1. The seriousness of sin

    2. The depth of God’s love

Jesus paid the full price so that we could be forgiven, restored, and brought into a relationship with God.

    What Jesus Accomplished

On the cross, Jesus declared, It is finished.

This was not a statement of defeat—it was a declaration of victory.

    Sin was paid for

    The debt was canceled

The way to God was opened

The veil in the temple was torn from top to bottom, showing that access to God was no longer limited. Through Jesus, we can now come directly to the Father.

    APPLICATION FOR OUR LIVES:

Good Friday calls us to respond.

This is not just a historical event—it is a personal invitation.

    Jesus died for you

    He took your place

He offers you forgiveness and new life

THE QUESTION IS, WHAT WILL YOU DEAL WITH THE CROSS?

Will you receive what Jesus has done, or will you walk away?

Will you surrender your life to Him, or continue trying to carry your own burden?

Good Friday is not the end of the story—but it is the turning point.

The cross looked like defeat, but it was actually victory.

    Because of the cross:

    We are forgiven

    We are redeemed

    We are made new

Let this day not just be remembered—let it transform you.

    WE LEARN THREE THINGS:

    1. Jesus willingly took your place on the cross

    2. The price for your sin has been fully paid

    3. You now have direct access to God through Jesus

Come to the cross. Receive His grace. Walk daily with Jesus on Lordsbook.

We are entering Holy Week—the most powerful time of the year as we remember the cross on Good Friday and celebrate the victory of Resurrection Sunday.

This is the week when hearts are open… and people are searching for hope.

Lordsbook is here for that moment.

A Christian community and discipleship platform filled with:

    Daily Verses

    Devotionals

    Bible Studies

    Prayer Wall

    Faith Reels

All designed to bring people closer to Jesus—every single day.

Here is the mission this week:

    Invite your family.
    Invite your friends.
    Invite your church.

    Send them to:
    www.Lordsbook.com

Let’s not keep this to ourselves.

This Holy Week, be part of what God is doing—
leading people to the cross… and to the empty tomb.
