- Colossians 3:15-17 (NLT) "Let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your heart. For as members of one body you are all called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Let the words of Christ, in all their richness, live in your heart and make you wise. Use His words to teach and counsel each other. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with a thankful heart. And whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus, all the while giving thanks through Him to God the Father." This passage has been doing God's work in my heart lately. This is currently my "life verse" that challenges me to pay attention to how I live my daily life! As you read it, and ponder it, I hope, may you too be blessed and challenged.Colossians 3:15-17 (NLT) "Let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your heart. - Shortly after I was born again in 1975 I was encouraged to find and live by a "life verse" in the Bible. I've followed the practice and been richly blessed by it through the years. As I look back on the Life Verses I've claimed they describe my spiritual growth and development in surprising ways. Here they are in the order they arrived in my life: Romans 6:23 "The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus the Lord." John 8:32 "And you will know the truth and the Truth will set you free." 1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins." 1 Corinthians 10:12 "Let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall." 2 Corinthians 13:5 "Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves!" And finally, right now, Colossians 3:17 "Whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus, all the while giving thanks through Him to God the Father." Friends, I encourage you to consider what singular verse in the holy word of God fits best in your life right now and claim it as your "life verse". - It seems that even the smaller churches have all gone to electronic amplification in their worship music and preaching. For older people or the hearing impaired this can be a serious problem. When I wear my hearing aids the amplified music is hurtful and distorted. When I don't wear them, I miss out on the unamplified conversations and prayers. Even though I'm a retired pastor with a strong ethic of church attendance, I am now finding most church experiences fraught with frustration. On the good side, I yearn even more earnestly for the Rapture or my resurrection when I will inherit the glorified body God has promised to faithful believers! It seems that even the smaller churches have all gone to electronic amplification in their worship music and preaching. - Today is my second wedding anniversary with my miracle bride! I call her my miracle bride because I was married to my first wife in 1969 and it lasted 53 years until she went to be with Jesus in August 2022. My Lord was kind toward me and six months later He brought me together with a devout Christian widow who had been married 46 years. We fell in love very quickly, praying together and seeking the guidance of the Lord at every step, and we were joined in holy matrimony on this date in 2023. Praise God for His amazing goodness toward us! He refused to let me "fade away and drift home to Jesus" as I assumed I would do after my first wife died. He has given me and my lovely Juanita a renewed and refreshed life together. Hallelu-YAH!Today is my second wedding anniversary with my miracle bride! - Hi, friends. So much cross dressing is becoming increasingly popular in our western culture, and even invading churches in some cases, so I thought I would post this gentle reminder from God's Word about it. It says in Deuteronomy 22:5 "A woman shall not wear a man's garment, nor shall a man put on a woman's cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God." (ESV) This sin goes clear back to God's creation of mankind when He made them "male and female" and ordained that they should multiply and fill the earth and subdue it. We must always submit to God's Word, God's will, and live God's way.

I sort of like what I've seen so far, so this post is to introduce myself. I'm a 76 year old retiree from four short careers; US Navy radioman for 9 years, administrative/executive for 12 years, long haul trucker for 12 years, and senior pastor/worship leader for almost 9 years. (Yeah, I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up! LOL) My calling is to proclaim and defend Biblical truth. My background is a childhood in a Baptist church, salvation at age 26 in an Independent Fundamental Bible church, college at a very conservative Baptist school and a small nondenominational Bible college, and then music/pastoral ministry in two nondenominational churches. I approve (with reservations) Calvary Chapel ministries, John MacArthur, Rick Warren, Bishop T. D. Jakes, and several arms of Christian motorcycle ministries. I'm on my 18th journey reading through the Bible and I joyfully confess that almost every single morning I discover some new wonderful fact in the Holy Scriptures. I have narrowed my reading down to KJV, NKJV, NASB, NLT and ESV. So, I look forward to getting acquainted with many of you as the Lord allows us time before the glorious Rapture of the Church. - Joshua 22:5 "But be very careful to obey all the commands and the law that Moses gave to you. Love the LORD your God, walk in all his ways, obey his commands, be faithful to him, and serve him with all your heart and all your soul." (NLT) These are the words that Joshua spoke to the Israelites just before he died at the age of 110. They still resound as words to live by. May you be blessed as you read and ponder this passage from God's Word.

- In case you have woke friends, here's God's final word on the matter: Deuteronomy 22:5 "A woman must not wear men's clothing, and a man must not wear women's clothing. The LORD your God detests people who do this." (NLT)

- After Israel was delivered from slavery in Egypt and crossed the Red Sea and ate manna and quail in the wilderness for 40 years, as they were preparing to enter the promised land and their relationship with the almighty creator YAH was uncomfortably adjusting almost daily; God said this in the Book of Numbers chapter 32, verses 23-24 "But if you fail to keep your word, then you will have sinned against the LORD, and you may be sure that your sin will find you out." (NLT) My earthly father taught me the critical importance of keeping my word, and I've often heard the phrase preached "your sin will find you out". Now I know where those teachings came from. God's Word is perfect!

I sincerely give God a "blank check" for my day. I can honestly say that every day is a wonderful adventure with God in control. Never a boring day, for sure. Hallelu-YAH!God is amazing! - Faith without works is dead. Works without faith is filthy rags. Faith plus good works is the will of God for every person. - Just want to let you fine folks know that last year I published a book for recreational and inspirational reading. The basic genre is Christian apocalyptic fiction. The book title is "Ashes and Dust" and it's available on Kindle. It depicts some aspects of the sinfulness of mankind but in a G rated way. My friends and family who have read it have raved about how intense and encouraging it is. So, there's this.
