Shortly after I was born again in 1975 I was encouraged to find and live by a "life verse" in the Bible. I've followed the practice and been richly blessed by it through the years. As I look back on the Life Verses I've claimed they describe my spiritual growth and development in surprising ways. Here they are in the order they arrived in my life: Romans 6:23 "The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus the Lord." John 8:32 "And you will know the truth and the Truth will set you free." 1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins." 1 Corinthians 10:12 "Let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall." 2 Corinthians 13:5 "Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves!" And finally, right now, Colossians 3:17 "Whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus, all the while giving thanks through Him to God the Father." Friends, I encourage you to consider what singular verse in the holy word of God fits best in your life right now and claim it as your "life verse". You will be blessed.
