- THANKSGIVING THURSDAY.
We are approaching God with Thanksgiving.
Philipians 4:6 Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.
Thanksgiving is part of prayer. Every prayer must have Thanksgiving. We thank because we acknowledge everything we need has been provided by Grace.
Titus 2:11 The grace of God that bringeth salvation has appeared to all men.
Grace conveys salvation. We thank God for salvation because salvation has met all our needs through christ.
John 3:16 KJV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
God loved the world so he gave his son.
Love is manifested in giving something. You can't love and fail to give .
John 3:35 KJV The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
The Love God has for the son benefits us. He puts everything in the hands of the son that through the son we can receive them.
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Life= in GREEK is "Zoe"
Meaning: of the absolute fulness of life, both essential and ethical, which belongs to God, and through him both to the hypostatic "logos" and to Christ in whom the "logos" put on human nature.
His life is the fullness of health.
His life is the fullness of peace.
His life is the fullness of prosperity.
His life is the fullness of all the physical and spiritual blessings.
Zoe life is the life in fullness. When you have zoe you have abundance of every good things.
The life of God meet our needs.
This life is in Christ. It has many aspects.
Ephesians 1:7 KJV In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.
1. REDEMPTION.
It is restoring something that has been lost to the rightful owner. The owner rejoices when he receives back what he lost.
Through christ God has purchased us back to himself.
Ephesians 1:7 KJV
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
It is in christ we have redemption.
We become included into God's family.
Ephesians 2:18-19
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
We are no longer outside we are in God's family.
Aliens are not members of the country they reside they lack citizenship privileges. But we are included to enjoy the rights of citizens. We are not aliens.
2. The second blessing we enjoy is the FORGIVENESS OF SINS.
Ephesians 1:7 KJV
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his GRACE.
Forgiveness of sin is a blessing we receive at salvation. We dont again go to God over and over again but we acknowledge that we have the forgiveness of sins as a redemptive gift.
Christ died for our sins once for all.
Hebrews 10:10. He doesn't die daily or we don't approach him daily to fix the sin nature. He did it when he died and resurrected from death.
We are not forgiveness today, we were forgiven. We approach every sin or missing of the mark by acknowledging the gift of forgiveness of sin. We are made free when we activate the forgiveness of sins that we received as a gift at salvation.
These are the reasons to thank God.THANKSGIVING THURSDAY. We are approaching God with Thanksgiving.
