As we step into this new year, may the Lord who carried us through the last one go before us in power and grace. May our faith grow deeper, our love stronger, and our hearts remain anchored in Christ. No matter what comes, we trust God’s plan, His timing, and His promises. But the man who is not afraid to admit everything that he sees to be wrong with himself, and yet recognizes that he may be the object of God's love precisely because of his shortcomings, can begin to be sincere. His sincerity is based on confidence, not in his own illusions about himself, but in the endless, unfailing mercy of God.

Two things in life are infinite; the stupidity of man and the mercy of God.

When Jesus died on the cross the mercy of God did not become any greater. It could not become any greater, for it was already infinite. We get the odd notion that God is showing mercy because Jesus died. No--Jesus died because God is showing mercy. It was the mercy of God that gave us Calvary, not Calvary that gave us mercy. If God had not been merciful there would have been no incarnation, no babe in the manger, no man on a cross and no open tomb.

God gives his anger by weight but his mercy without measure.

I really want to be closer to God and circumstances of life is pulling me away. Pray for me.
I want to know him and love him (God) more.

God is faithful. And he loves me so much
