- Signs of True Repentance:
Clinging to the Lord and seeking His counsel from the Holy Scriptures and spiritual teachers, listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit in the heart, and preferring God's commandments over the wisdom of the world.
The supremacy of love over every thought, action, and word. This is seen in quickly forgiving offenses and responding to insults with the spirit of Jesus.
Not turning the heart away from the commandments of Jesus. Even if periods of hesitation pass, and a person cries out asking for the Lord's grace and strength, the crying out itself is one of the signs of repentance. Confessing weakness is necessary.
Preferring the law of the Cross and the Crucified One over everything in life, even life itself, and counting everything – as the Apostle said – as "rubbish."
Intense hatred for sin, and humility in dealing with sinners; because hating sin without humility is a defense of our own conduct, a quest for hidden praise, and an attempt to appear righteous by publicly attacking sinners and sin.

- I have just finished Genesis up to the point of Joseph's passing, and the story of Jacob and his sons is...interesting . I was so conflicted over Jacob's character throughout the readings, where my struggle is with the concept of Grace, not Jacob himself. But this projection happens when you're a beneficiary of Grace, but still cannot fathom it. Ironic when you consider my name directly translates to "The Grace of God".I have just finished Genesis up to the point of Joseph's passing, and the story of Jacob and his sons is...interesting 🙃. [18] In hope against hope Abraham believed that he would become a father of many nations, as he had been promised [by God]: “So [numberless] shall your descendants be.” [Gen 15:5] [19] Without becoming weak in faith he considered his own body, now as good as dead [for producing children] since he was about a hundred years old, and [he considered] the deadness of Sarah’s womb.
