    Title: The eagle Christian
    Scriptures: Isaiah 40:31, Exodus 19:4, Matthew 8:23-27

    Key points:
When a storm is approaching, the eagle spreads its wings to allow the wind to carry it upwards. The eagle positions itself and uses the air current to lift itself above the storm. Just as the eagle soars above storms, Christians are called to rise above life's storms or challenges by trusting in the Lord’s strength, gaining a heavenly perspective and live with renewed purpose.

5 ways we can learn from the eagle and rise above storms:
    1. God uses the eagle to illustrate how He carries, protects and empowers His people. The eagle protects its young ones from harm.
    2. Eagles rise above storms by letting the wind lift them higher. Jesus rose above the storm in Matthew 8 by firstly not panicking. He again rebuked the storm and thirdly asked where the faith of the disciples was.
    3. Eagles renew their strength through molting like Christians renew their strength by waiting on God. Molting involves the eagle plucking out old feathers by rubbing it against rocks and branches. New feathers which are stronger begin to grow. Joseph for example; as he waited on God, produced endurance, good character and integrity
    4. Eagles have sharp vision. Christians are called to see with the eyes of faith. Even when life doesn't make sense, we are to see with the eyes of faith. Joseph's life didn't make sense but in the midst of it, he didn't doubt God and he never lost sight of the vision
    5. Eagles do not flock with sparrows or crows; they fly alone or with their own kind. Christians are called to be set apart and focused on God's calling upon their lives.

  • Do you have a givers mindset or a getting mindset? Remember, everyone has something to offer the body of Christ. Note that Dorcas was busy GIVING away clothes whereas Gehazi was busy TAKING clothes from Naaman. Selah.

  • Isaiah 41:10. Fear not for i am with you. Do not be afraid for i am your God. One difference between the children of Israel under the Moses dispensation and the children of Israel under the Joshua dispensation is that, the latter were bold and fearless enough to pursue what God had in store for them whilst the former played it safe. Go out there and pursue purpose. God is with you.

  • Hello everyone. Just want to encourage you today by saying keep on keeping your vision at the back of your mind and never give up. You may go through challenges but let those challenges be stepping stones and not stumbling blocks. Joseph's life may have been marked by false accusation, pit and rejection. But like gold that goes through fire before it is ready for use, you will come out stronger and better. Byeee
