- Law vs Grace (2 of 2)
Here is the thing...every Christian out there that I have witnessed misunderstands Grace...as do the legalists...they all do...here is why...one group says that Grace sets me free from sin and death...yep, scripture says that...but if we cherry pick our way to salvation, our surprise will be acute...because Grace isn't a get out of hell free card.
Here is Grace explained:
Law: Thou shall not kill
Grace: If you hate your brother, you are a murderer already
Law: Thou shall not commit adultery
Grace: If you look at a woman to desire her, you have committed the deed in your heart.
we can do this with any law...Jesus did this deliberately...not to say that He has come to destroy the Law...God forbid...the Law remains...and anyone who cannot see therefore how Grace honestly works...then they will not be subject to Grace during the Great Judgemement, at which time the books of the law shall be opened and out of there shall they be judged.
But Grace is also a two-edged sword...where God is Just to forgive when we ask...lets get real, we have scripture for y'all that try to use scripture to your advantage to justify sin...
Hebrews 10:26 ESV
For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
NIV
If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left,
NASB
For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
CSB
For if we deliberately go on sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
NLT
Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins.
KJV
For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Pick your poison...Grace is either Eternal Life or a man is sentencing himself to damnation...
The bottom line is this...there is a transformation that is intended to take place...this does not happen for everyone, and unfortunately, the leadership in those that they trust isn't often strong enough to recognize when the process isn't completed for some reason...and everyone moves forward as though it has, through faith or something misguided like that...because
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 12:2
If that transformation has not occurred for that individual, they will not trust themselves and bewitch themselves back under the law therefore placing themselves back under the law by their own choice...if that transformation has occurred...then written law is lower because Grace deals with the heart...it isn't punitive, its preventative.
Romans 2:14-15 NLT
Even Gentiles, who do not have God’s written law, show that they know his law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it. [15] They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right.

Law vs Grace (1 of 2)
Matthew 22:34–40 The Great Commandment
34 But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
Let's break this statement down properly so that we can glean what is intended to be gleaned.
Question: What is the great (or greatest in context)?
Answer: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment.
Is there anything else to consider here?
Yes...
39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
And you shall love your neighbor as yourself...
So, we have to love God with everything that we are...and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves...we don't want to be treated badly or without mercy, so ya we should be treating those on the journey of life with a similar respect as we wish to feel is being offered to us...
What are the Laws?
The 10 Commandments
You shall have no other God's before me.
-if we love God with everything that is within us, how can there be any other God's before Him and if there is, they need to be removed, given a backseat at the very least...
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images. ...
Graven images...nope, I wouldn't have such things because demons use articles
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. ...
-Oh my goodness, I hope not...I wouldn't want to use His name when it wasn't for some serious business at hand...
Remember the Sabbath day and keep it Holy. ...
- Some consider one day holy over another while others consider every day alike. To judge one is to step above ones pay grade...I consider every day is Holy...
Honor your father and mother. ...
- I can do no other thing, as a father now I know what kinds of trouble fathers can get their sorry butts into...I wish I had this knowledge while I was younger...
Thou shalt not kill. ...
- Technically the original says willful killing or murder...because there is a time to kill, unfortunately...especially if we are protecting the weak and there is no other option.
Thou shalt not commit adultery. ...
- Gosh not even with my eyes...
Thou shalt not steal.
- I hope I do things as honest as possible...but I'm meat so...gotta go over everything because I'm sure He will...I haven't tried this here before, some may find my style hard hitting.
