Topic: *DON'T LIVE CARELESSLY*

Text: Judges 18:1-2, 7, 27-29

Key Verse:
Judges 18:7
*Then the five men departed, and came to Laish, and saw the people that were therein, how they dwelt careless, after the manner of the Zidonians, quiet and secure; and there was no magistrate in the land, that might put them to shame in any thing; and they were far from the Zidonians, and had no business with any man.*

*Message*

The psalmist says in Psalm 39:5 that the best state of every man is altogether vanity. This is the picture our main text in Judges 18 is painting. Once a man trusts himself, wealth, achievements, his own security, he will have no divine deliverer when evil visitors come. This is why in Proverbs 21:31, the Bible says that even though the horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.

When Rahab in Joshua 2, received the visitors of death and destruction, she made them swear to an oath that brought deliverance to her and her family; instead of trusting in the security of Jericho. But the men of Laish were careless without trusting in God for deliverance. So, the visitors of destruction took them and changed the course of their destiny forever by changing the name of their city from Laish to Dan.

In Jeremiah 17:5, the Bible says the arms of flesh will fail you if you trust in them, and live carelessly in your own security. This carelessness is seen in when a man doesn't appreciate God's presence in his achievements. And so, doesn't abide by the Church's authority to control his excesses and deficiencies. Doors are opened to the visitors of destruction if you value your material possessions more than your relationship with God, the Church and members of the Church. Beloveth, always give a place to God in your life, so He can fight for you in the evil days... Psalm 50:14-15.

*LET US PRAY*

1. Father, take your place in my life, and disappoint the devices of the crafty enemies, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise against me in Jesus' name.

2. Oh Lord, teach me to continue to trust in you in all circumstances that my safety will come from you in Jesus' name.

3. Precious father, every spirit of careless living trying to take over my life, I subdue it with the power of the Holy Ghost in Jesus' name.

Topic: *THE OVERCOMER'S PLACE IN HEAVEN*

Text: Revelation 3:21

Key Verse:
Revelation 3:21
*To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.*

*Message*

Beloveth, we need to work harder to get to heaven than we are working to get materially blessed. According to this our text, Jesus wouldn't have gone back to heaven if he didn't pass the test that promotes one into heaven. He didn't have a seat reserved by the Father for him in heaven when he came to earth. Jesus himself said that,he was able to get back into heaven because he overcame. Not because he is the Son of God. What this means is that the father does not compromise his standards. If we must get to heaven, we must get the pass mark before grace will show up. If not, grace must show up for all that go to Church today. Whether they get the pass mark or not.

Imagine the lukewarm Church of Laodicea; Jesus expects them to
overcome before the gate of heaven will be opened for them. The joy of the whole thing is that, Jesus was confident for this Church; that it could overcome.Despite their lukewarmness and self confidence, if they accept the reproofs and counsels of Christ and repent, then put on fresh zeal and spiritual vigor in their pursuit of Christ, they will win their spiritual warfare.

Beloveth, this battle of salvation must be won because of the reward ahead. Whoever conforms to Christ in the faith, will also conform to him in the resting place in heaven. As he is set down with the Father in heaven because he overcame, if we overcome, our place in heaven is to sit with him in his throne of judgment at the end of the world, and in glory to all eternity shinning beams like a thousand suns shine. Keep the faith brethren, the end is glorious.

*LET US PRAY*

1. Glorious father, help me not to fall short of your expectations so I don't miss heaven in Jesus' name.

2. Oh Lord, I command the spirit and power of self sufficiency that breeds pride to die from me in Jesus' name.

3. Dear Lord, the same way you followed those two disciples of yours to Emmaus and brought them back to Jerusalem in Luke 24, bring me back from my Emmaus to yourself in Jesus' name

Topic: *JESUS IS KNOCKING*

Text: John 1:10-13

Key Verse:
Revelation 3:20
*Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.*

*Message*

To knock is to seek access into a house. When one hears a knock on his door, he checks before opening the door. If the person knocking is a liability, oftentimes, the one in the house won't open. But if he is an asset, someone to benefit something from, or someone long expected, the door is opened with a beam of laughter.

In Rev 3:20, Jesus is saying to the Laodicean Church, the apostate ministers and backslidden believers that, he is standing at the door of their hearts, and he is knocking. Just as he did when he got to his own community after the world rejected him in John 1:10-11. But when his own people also refused to open for him, he never went back again, but said that a prophet is not valued by his own people... Mark 6:4. The worst was that he couldn't do any miracle there because the people didn't open the door of their hearts to receive him... Mark 6:5.

The heart of man is naturally shut up against Christ because of sinful acts and unbelief. But even though it is shut, Christ doesn't walk away from such, but stands by the door and knocks. He does this knocking by the Word... Acts 8:26-38, he even knocks by the influences of His Spirit...Acts 10:30-33. He doesn't force his way in, even though he is all powerful, but comes in at the volition of the owner of the shut heart. In John 1:12-13, the scripture says he only enters into those hearts that receive and believe in him to make them be born of God. Beloveth, why not open the door of your heart today? Don't be deceived by the will of flesh and the will of man. Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart, business, marriage, employment, etc. Please
open for him.

*LET US PRAY*

1. Precious Lord, thanks for knocking at the door of my heart, marriage, health, ministry, etc, today in Jesus' name.

2. I command my apostasy to give way for the Lord of glory to give my calling a boost as I open the door of my ministry to him now in Jesus' name.

3. Whatever spirit that has been weakening my faith, I renounce you and let in Christ into my life for me to live by faith in him in Jesus' name.
